So say i own 600 shares in someone, and they do a 200 to 1 reverse split , now i own 3 shares. Sure the overall value of the shares is the same since the value of the shares rises accordingly. But say i have the 600 shares and even eventually the stock is able to go up 10 dollars a share , then some pretty good money can be made. But if after the split , i have 3 shares now and the stock price goes up 10 dollars eventually , not much money is made.
