A key battle for now--everything is relative--is the SPX 2910 level for this week [tomorrow's close]

A very nice buy zone is between 2850 to 2870 [Of course, non-above, 2850 is even better]

interesting bit a stat i ran across this afternoon thought was worth a quick share in here as well.

wasn't aware of this myself, but found it a little interesting (at least for me anyway) that since the past 14 times the spx closed the month red in august, the rest of the year turned out to be green a perfect 14 out of 14 times.

spx only a few % off ATHs so would be interesting to see if this were to hold true once again this year :p

NFLX stock has been struggling lately on competition concern. I get NFLX for free from T Mobile but it will be interesting to see the competition between them and Disney

I suspect they will see some customers leave over the next 6 months, but it will flatten out.

I will very likely be keeping both services.

Being a lazy no-good mooch, someone sell me on why I should get Disney streaming service. I've currently got Netflix, Hulu (+live tv), and Amazon Prime. What is on Disney that I don't have?

just a quick stat i ran across this AM, but if the spx closes out the day today above 2,901 it would mark 25 out of 26 times it was higher a year after a 5 month winning streak.

It's tempting to enter long at 2937, because the possible break out could happen. But, it's risky, because the price could collapse significantly from this level, if the price decides to retrace. So, not entering is about discipline.

My theory says a re-test of the 2900 level shall happen at some point. Entering at that level is better and ok, but not as ideal as if the price were to retrace to say, 2850 or 2870

So, the price did hit 2940. I had expected the price to hit between 2920 and 2940 on the SPX for profit taking. Of course, I profit took 2920--I think that was a reasonable exit. So, now, it's time to assess when to re-enter the game

On September 1, the 15% tariffs are supposed to go into effect.
Imagine the stock market reaction if Trump stops it.

Right, for reasons like that, I entered lot #1 long at around SPX 2918. I don't care if it goes up or not, I can exit for profit taking or average in. I don't care for 2918--I prefer 2900 or non-above--but as a trader, I work with what the market provides

hope everyone had a pretty decent trading week, thank you for all the great contributions in here this week!

reminder: markets are closed here on monday for the labor day holiday. enjoy your 3-day weekend! :D

admittedly, i am a little sad that we're approaching the end of the summer. not a big fan of the cold and shorter days :p

oh, and for anyone who is in the path of the hurricane stay safe!

i think that is suppose to reach cat 4 status by landfall.
