Stocks in the green for me today: IQ, CME, CLX, NEE, KGC, and AXSM, all others in red and especially those China related stocks that I bought last week
Can you guys still buy the masks in the drug stores by the way? Here in Hawaii all of the masks are pretty much sold out although I don't really see anyone wearing masks on the street

Actually sold out in the stores. Many Asians live here and maybe that’s why I guess you can still buy the masks pretty easily in the mainland then, I was just curious
AAPL and SBUX earnings will be interesting to watch after the bell, they might talk about coronavirus and the virus could impact their guidance
Well the SPX up 38 points now, so we are now just down slightly for the week after the 51 points loss yesterday We probably will see more volatile market in the near term due to the virus headlines, tomorrow also is the FED day so should be pretty exciting
i was thinking the same too, but now with this wuhan thing going on it seems like the FED will be SOH, and maybe even a bit more dovish than what was expected. as you have eluded to many times in the past, this market has been largely predicated on the FED. so anytime we have a FED day its important. but, my guess is this will be a snooze fest of a meeting tomorrow, as far as the market reaction/movement goes...not expecting anything to upset the apple cart (aka, the stock market) imho...and speaking of "apple", i think that has more of an impact on the overall market for tomorrow than anything that being said, this wuhan thing is definitely the black swan event as you had also mentioned the other day as well, but we will have to wait and see just how bad it is...so far it appears to have stabilized somewhat, at least here stateside anyway.
True Cy, if the FED surprises us tomorrow then it probably would be a dovish surprise, will be interesting to see whether they mention the virus at all in their statements Yeah thankfully it doesn't seem like the number of cases are spiking here in the US, at least for the confirmed cases. Hard to tell how bad it is in China since we never know whether the Chinese government underreporting the number of cases. Anyway, hope the virus will be contained soon in China. Even if the virus doesn't spread to here, it would indirectly affect us if China is forced to shut down for extended period of time
