As much as I hate LNKD as a platform these days I've actually found my first ever job experience via it. Wasn't top-notch but I guess that's expectable.
I double on this. Quite convenient on the sites that have it implemented. Dunno how hard it is to do on a forum though.
Yeah LinkedIn is a place for people to go and circle jerk themselves over their resumes. They trick you into joining, and getting your contacts to join by scouring your contacts and sending them "invites". So, so pissed off at that spammy nature. So maybe I'm predisposed to irrationally hating them. But I hate them. Not surprised they ended up with Microsoft! Home of Nokia phones, Bing search, and Zune players. The home of #2 market share that is 1/5th as popular.
Wow, sage words Tones. On another front, maybe the Russians are more savvy about corporate tyranny than the so-called home of the free and brave. By Christian Lowe and Maria Kiselyova MOSCOW (Reuters) - The U.S. government said on Friday it was deeply concerned over Russia's decision to block public access to networking site LinkedIn, saying it created a precedent that could be used to justify blocking other sites operating in Russia. LinkedIn (LNKD.N), which has its headquarters in the United States, is the first major social network to be blocked under a new law that requires firms holding Russian citizens' data to store it on servers on Russian soil. Internet services analysts say other tech firms, including Facebook (FB.O) and Twitter (TWTR.N), could also find access blocked unless they move data onto Russian-based servers.
