"Sell to open" would mean to short. Robinhood doesn't allow shorting ( right now ), so there's no chance of you shorting a stock by mistake.
Thanks you sir's! I recently withdrew some money into my own account and was worrying like crazy about if I'd have redeposit and buy all those shares back at some point?
I hope they don't allow shorting considering there are lots of newbies out there... Even these margin accounts wont be good for them considering they would need to earn more than 6% for the year to cover that $120 extra cost. I wouldn't mind seeing them allow call/put options though
Reports of quotes not updating this morning. Just an FYI, even if the quotes are not working, placing a limit order will get you the trade you need regardless of whether the quotes are showing on your phone.
I think they need to somehow fix these server issues. If need be, they can start charging $1/trade and still keep their low cost edge while providing a better service with reliable servers.
Latest from RH is that all hands are on deck working to resolve issues. Frustrating day for RH users, but this is what a lot us went through with early e-trade / datek days! Remember those?
You pay a monthly fee for gold membership? I know that's how you get "gold" in other services, but wondering because I thought Robin Hood's draw was free trading/investing. Speculation: And they're still leaving a level above for platinum, maybe that will be options.
