The stock market to me is a super fun game. I have sat in trading seminars that tell me to trade with the banks. have signed up for courses to teach me technical analysis or how to read the charts. Its all about your trading style I guess. Day trading is not my style, I would rather make money over a week or a month. Plus day trading requires $25k and I'm not that rich. What I like to do is watch the news and find good companies where something bad happened where they can recover, BP is a good example. In my opinion, Covid-19 has provided such a great opportunity. All these companies have tanked in stock price, but they are good companies and will no doubt return to normal. Right now is an absolute gold mine opportunity. Anyway, what brought me here is that I really like to put a stock I find into a portfolio and track the price. I do this through yahoo finance, but every portfolio that I find has me enter the date and stock amount, price ect. What I really want to do is just enter the symbol and the portfolio will start tracking, no need to enter any other info. Is there any sites that can do that? Looking forward to checking the rest of this site out, thanks for reading.
Welcome to the forums, and I second the paper trading recommendation if that's what you're trying to do. You could probably also set up your own google sheet one time and have it be all formulas except the ticker field that you manually enter. Then it will pull the data from google finance.
