Yo anyone know what ever happened to Cy (bigbear)? I’ve noticed he hasn’t really been posting much or active of late. I’m largely just a lurker around here but admittedly I have missed reading his daily market statistics and commentary. Hope he’s ok.
I think he's just overwhelmed between this forum, reddit, and the discord channel so he doesn't have much time for commentary besides just managing this place. Maybe @bigbear0083 can speak for himself?
hah thanks for your concern i honestly i did not think anyone would either notice or care. i've been pretty much awol from the market ever since the 4th holiday. but i still do check into the forums daily, and still even run the stock competitions fwiw. as @T0rm3nted perfectly alluded to, i've been spending a lot of my time on the discord server the past few weeks. programming bots, etc, etc. that has admittedly taken up most of my time. much of the reason why i don't comment or post stats or whatever in these threads lately anymore is because, well, honestly the markets are just SUPER BORING to me right now... and i get it, we're in the heart of the summer doldrums period right now, so naturally things are just not very interesting atm. i'm still holding out hope, or at least a hunch of mine that i have that is going to be a very interesting and perhaps very volatile months ahead as we near closer to the presidential election. i'm not betting man here, but truth be told, i'd be extremely shocked if this market continues to remain range bound/choppy like this as we get closer to the fall. my honest hunch here is that this FED/QE-led rally that began in late march will finally reveal itself, and i'm leaning on a possible major market correction starting around september or thereabouts. again, i'm no betting man here so take whatever i say with a massive grain of salt lol. but, i think we could possibly see a repeat of this past march again in the fall. albeit maybe not nearly as severe. i won't lie, but i actually hate the market right now lol. nothing is interesting to me. everything is so over extended it isn't even funny. we'll see how much of what i think will actually materialize in a few months time. who really knows... anyway, that is just my 2c. sorry for this mouthful of a post, but i guess i needed to get that off my chest hahaha. hope everyone has been doing well! thanks to all of you who continue to contribute on these threads daily! you guys rock.
Today’s action is more like last week, overall market up but tech underperforming, biotech also down for the day for touching new ATH earlier today
Investors piling into silver again today! I wonder if silver bugs will reach their 2008 highs since gold is almost there? Up 7% again for the day
Any insight why E*TRADE wouldn’t execute my stop limit or stop on quote when the price breaks? The underlying is now 9% below stop price and it was never executed. I’ve had this issue before many times on long positions.
Metals probably going higher until we see the declining number of coronavirus cases. If the Congress agrees to another massive stimulus later on, I could see the dollar getting hit a little bit and helping the metals too. We also have China tensions and the election uncertainty to help the metals a little bit
GOP considers extending unemployment benefit at reduced level of $400 a month through December https://www.cnbc.com/2020/07/22/cor...onsider-unemployment-insurance-extension.html Market moving a little higher
Documents burned on the grounds of the Chinese Consulate in Houston https://abc13.com/fire-chinese-cons...burned-houston-us-and-china-tensions/6328284/ Odd timing for the fire when the closure is this Friday
been a while since i have dished out any market stats in here (sorry about that -- this one's for you @kyleh2k20 lol) but did you guys know that today marked the 48th consecutive trading day that the nazzy did not put in back-to-back red days? this actually ties the longest record, get this, in history! and, well, technically IS a new record, given that if even tomorrow ends down, that would only be 1 down day in a row since today closed green. so happy new record to the nasdaq there! holy cow. just when you think this market has made all the history, especially in the case of the nazzy, then you get some golden nugget like that one.
