JP Morgan I swear likes the contrarion opinion. I think they do that to not appear to be doing the opposite.

Nikola stock currently trading over $20 for a market cap over $7.5B.

I'm sure the new management at Nikola is working on a path to save the company from near certain bankruptcy but my gawd......

    Ok, Ive seen enough!

Who here wants to start a company with me?

We just pick a sector, make up a catchy name and start marketing something based of renders done in Blender.

Sorry for the necropost but I occasionally watch video on the Nikola factory build (most recent video below).

The Nikola build is actually happening. They started erecting steel this year and the frame is partially formed, at this point. Basically, they do in a month what the Tesla build does in three days. Nikola videos are weekly but move far less quickly than daily videos out of Tesla Giga Texas.

This build confuses me. If Nikola is trying to be a real thing, why don't they build more quickly? If Nikola is vapour, why build at all? These build projects are so expensive, slow playing them makes it nearly impossible.

    Interesting, I watched the video.

Clearly they are taking steps to prove to many people that there is actually something happening.

Nice drone shots showing the scope, dirt being moved, definitely something being built, no denying that.

Quick vent, and then I will not bump this thread again for a while.

The problem with Nikola is they have nothing, and yet the market has pumped them up. Market cap is currently 8.8B. That's huge, for a company with literally nothing to show but a couple of tons of steel work in the desert.

Here is my view of the situation:

100% chance the company will fail. 30% chance the remains will be purchased by someone. When they do, I expect it to go for *less than* 1.5B. It will need to be sold to someone who is sufficiently ignorant as to think fuel cells could be a big part of the future.

Debt is negligible. A couple of million.

So, my outlook for Nikola is a market value between $0 and $1.5B.

If ever there were a short opportunity, this is it. You might have to carry it for a couple of years but there will be a reward.

As for fuel cells, I don't think they're worthless. It's clear they won't be a big part of the future. Fuel cells are interesting to people who think on the level of, "Let's see... fuel cells output electricity... electric motors require electricity... hey! I could build a vehicle with a fuel cell." Anyone with a holistic view understands fuel cells are not viable on a mass scale due to their inefficiency.

So why are they building a factory in the AZ desert? Are they trying to make themselves look attractive for a suitor? Do they still plan to build something? Their double diamond fuel cell, perhaps? Are they still going to go through the motions of producing the fuel cell semi truck?

Fuel cells could be a viable technology for transporting high density energy to remote locations, like mountain top cell towers where there are too many cloud formations to make solar/battery viable. They aren't going to transform transportation, though.

I don’t think they’re going up because of anything specific to NKLA. I think the market as a whole is just very bullish on EV’s and views Tesla as already having reached its peak and not having a lot more room for immediate growth. I think it’s just rallying on sector growth
