Idk. But if you believe in the master plan, and their goals, it kinda has to happen this aggressively, no?

also i wonder how much cash they are still sitting on from last capital raise and what its earmarked for if not already spent?

There's no way that FCA, who just merged with Peugeot, is going to agree to sell ONLY their north american component to tesla, when their north american component is basically the only money maker. It would have to be all or nothing.

To put that into perspective, that's an $85B valuation of a company that has $20B in the bank. So... $65B valuation.

It's easy to read someone's politics based on their Tesla valuation. Basically, the darker someone's lungs, the darker their price outlook on Tesla.

To the average coal miner or JPMorgan analyst (identical life outlooks) who think ICE forever [$90/shr]:

Tesla is a 500K unit per year car maker worth perhaps $20B
... throw in the SuperCharger network and you're at about $50B
... throw in stationary storage and you're at about $65B
... and the other stuff... is worthless

To someone who can see climate change is going to cause legislation that will turbocharge Tesla growth [$210/shr]:

Tesla will soon be a 2M unit per year car maker worth about $80B
... throw in the SuperCharger network and you're at about $120B
... throw in stationary storage and you're at about $200B
... and the other stuff... is a bonus

For people who see a future with self-driving deliveries, ride-share, transport as a service [$2600/shr]

Tesla will be a 5M unit per year car maker by 2028 worth about $200B
... throw in the SuperCharger network and you're at about $280B
... throw in stationary storage at world scale and you're at about $530B
... throw in automated delivery and you're at about $1T
... throw in ride share and you're at about $2T
... and the other stuff... brings it to about $2.5T

    * Note: "Other stuff" includes SuperCharger synergies, HVAC, Solar, grid management, PPA (power purchase agreements), wholesale battery sales, etc.

Further to the last post, it's easy to see that if Tesla automates vehicle delivery, IOW use FSD to have cars deliver themselves, they will perhaps save 20~30M per quarter. That is not a significant amount of money, although it will improve margin for the auto division. Once FSD revenue starts coming in, that saving will be irrelevant.

Fund raising complete. I guess that explains the early morning drop and high volume.

Tesla has a considerable new plot of land, adjacent to Giga Shanghai, and is doing groundwork for further factory build-out. Apparently, this is likely to cause a watermelon shortage in Lingang.

Gotta love the volatility, was down $770 shortly after the order was made but 15 minutes later up $820. Sold to book the profit.

Next week is going to be interesting. I am still holding other call contracts.

Another new, major, building has been started at Giga Shanghai. I'm not talking about the ground work happening in the newly acquired property next door. A new building is springing up on the parking lot. They already don't have enough parking space so this seems odd.

I have no idea what phase this is. Phase 2a is done. It looks like 2b is also done or nearly. Perhaps this new building is 2c and the newly acquired lot next door is 3a?

Whatever the case, they are going far beyond Model Y production.

One piece sub-frame castings can be seen laying around the Giga Shanghai yard, by the way. They are definitely producing Model Y there, at this point.

2021 is going to see a flood of Tesla vehicles sprinkled around the globe.
