not really sure why i'm sharing this in here...could be the slow market day that we're having today, with the majors having a pretty ho hum day to put it best lol (which btw i'm thinking could be the theme here for a little while as well, absent any black swans of course ). but if any of you were ever curious to know what the average return for the SPX was on every single trading day of the year, for the exception of the holidays of course. well here ya have it looks like my birthday is in the green (albeit just meagerly to put it best lol) at +0.12% average over the past 70 years
Gotta say, I’m actually super surprised personally that VIX is still sitting above that 20 handle, while the majors are pegged at ATHs. I suspect we’ll finally get that sub 20 closing print in the next few weeks perhaps, absent a black swan. But maybe not if the majors continue ripping new a-holes everyday lol. Not to make this into any political discussion here, but my feeling is that the overall news flow, and market action may be quite a bit subdued over the next little while. We’re basically going from one extreme to another, from having one of the most volatile presidents we’ve ever had, to now perhaps one of the most least volatile presidents ever maybe? We’ll have to see, but they don’t call him “sleepy” for nothin’ eh? haha j/k.
Running today Purely trading on its potential since it has no product in the market now but sounds like it could have a game changing technology if successful Radiologists Name Nanox As a 'Game Changing' Technology At RSNA 2020 (entrepreneur.com)
I didn't know INTC released its earnings early, I thought it was running into earnings after the bell
Haha indeed, we won't have to worry about a tweet will move the market violently under this President for sure I think the major concern for the market under Biden is the corporate tax hike but he probably isn't thinking about doing it anytime soon since the economy is still very fragile due to the pandemic
ARK_INNOVATION_ETF_ARKK_HOLDINGS.pdf (ark-funds.com) PCAR up over 10% after Cathie Wood buying it Seems like people love to follow her picks now rather than Warren Buffett or whoever
IBM diving after earnings report, but still above the December low of $121.72. See if it holds above that, current dividend yield of 5%. Next dividend of $1.63 per share goes ex-div on 2/9.
Not as much as MGNI. I'd feel more confident in IBM if it was making higher highs & lows month-by-month. Now this is just one big sideways trading month. And looking at the chart, it is at the same price level as it was all the way back in 2000. The Red Hat acquisition did not pan out.
Old tech giants like INTC and IBM both down big Amazing to see INTC is doing so poorly when pretty much all other semiconductor stocks have been on fire
