You must have some massively powerful binoculars.

I will say that I'd have to consider buying back in at 500 but I have no expectation of it ever returning to that level or me ever owning Tesla again.

If TSLA was not in the S&P I would say $500 for sure.

Im a little skeptical about a massive pull back just because so many funds are hedged seven different ways.

Still, its not impossible. The crash of 2000 showed us that everything can drop more than you would expect.

To date its the only position I hold LONGTERM. I dont plan on adding unless we get lucky.

The bitcoin thing confused a lot of people, rightfully so. Maybe ELON plans to take part of the warehouses full of solar panels and become a key green mining operation, who knows?

Sort of like the flash crash of 2010 that stopped out all of my positions while I was at work. Entirely different circumstances but I will never forget that day, lost a bundle and had to buy back in way higher than I got tripped at. LOL.

I wish to point out, I inhaled a big wad of two different stocks during the flash crash with a strategy of long term, limit, buy orders that I continue to use to this day. It's surprising how often they fill, for rarely traded stocks.

So, I appreciate the flash crash and what it did for our wealth.

Very true sir, except I placed stops to protect my positions. LOL. The exact reason I never used stops again.

It's hard to trust but trust issues can be expensive.

I trusted Elon Musk from before buying our first tranche of stock. Through the time between then and now, believing in him allowed me to tune out every analyst that tried to crap on Tesla.

To be honest, I believe in him less now than I used to. That enabled me to sell my position when I felt the value was gone for years.

This is a reference to your comments in The Long Term Investor thread: Certain behaviours make Elon seem less open minded than he used to be. If true, it is likely age/wealth related. I still consider him reasonably open minded and an excellent CEO so I am in no way preaching that he is ruining Tesla. Also, I think it's very positive to see an extremely deep bench at Tesla. At one point, they would have been dead without him. Now, they would probably be fine.

Its all a game to him now.

Pumping DOGE and getting people who dont know shit about the markets or crypto to probably buy in thinking its going higher... there are going to be so many on the losing side of that.

    He really doesnt care.

It does seem like he's become much more erratic and it's hard not to see this latest Bitcoin/DOGE thing as market manipulation of crypto. I wonder if he'll get investigated or penalized for it as we all know he's had brushes with the SEC before. Also, the whole Tesla being environmentally-friendly concept sure seems to be undermined by the fact that Bitcoin consumes more electricity than ARGENTINA. I'm bearish on cults of personality...and companies with P/E ratios over 1000 lol

Im taking all im reading in, and evaluating it.

that said, is it manipulation? The man has long been accused of twitter manipulation, but most that is not obvious satire, becomes true one day.

maybe he did buy dogecoin for x or whatever his name is? If he said he did, i believe he did. Tsla the company transferred 1.5B free cash into bitcoin. And is selling cars now, or will be, with bitcoin. That isnt manipulation, but leverage...

the tequila thing comes to mind. Everyone said it was due to an april fools prank that happened almost 2 yrs ago. But the tequila is an anejo. You dont just snap your fingers and get anejo. It has to sit 18 months in whiskey barrels to become anejo. Repisado (sp) is 12 months, blanco is none.
The (prank) that made the tequila a reality, i will always believe was already in the making.

yes i believe he is more arrogant and less humble.
His methods/theories, name it, time and again are being proven to come to flourishon. I guess being consistantly right and gaining wealth, can do that to a person.

Sidenote, spaceballs is literally on my tv now. My kids and i are watching it because of the model s plaid.

his unapologetic goal always has been and still is to make us an interplanetary species. When you have a bigger platform, bigger money, you make bigger moves to follow your dreams. But tsla is still a part of that goal. It has to still double a time or two before its complete.

I had to sell a good portion of my shares (mixed regret and validation ill tell about it more in my journey when i fee up to it) but i still believe in the horse im betting.

    To clarify the bitcoin situation.
You do NOT have to own it to accept it for payment. It can be accepted and transferred to currency instantly. J.M. BULLION " a very large precious metals dealer" has accepted it for YEARS. Being that large I can assure you they didn't hold it longterm as the previous fluctuations would have wiped them out. Like any other business they operate on a profit margin and have creditors that monitor balance sheets.

My state has nearly 400 ATMs that you can buy/exchange it. They don't hold it longterm but merely operate as a exchange network.

ELON, CATHIE WOOD and CHAMATH are very brilliant people to say the least, they all own it and believe in it.

More and more financial institutions are adopting it, CANADA just approved a ETF on their exchange, MORGAN STANLEY has stated they are considering it as well. The SEC and others most likely will follow suit. It has NEVER gained this much support and my GUESS is it will become more stable in the future.

TOM B has knowledge about Tesla that are lite years above mine with his previous investment and extreme due diligence with them. Hopefully he will chime in and give some insight.

We live in a world of millennials that have different views and are very brilliant.

I can only imagine what "little X " will achieve in his fathers footsteps.

Michael Burry and a few more are heavy shorts, its in a downtrend, markets are causing some to be nervous. Probably see more downside.

    Puts anyone?

I'm going to put my feet up.

This morning, Capital World Investors filed a 13G stating they own 5% of Tesla as of the end of 2020.

I saw a great exchange on twitter saying "how are you supposed to charge your Tesla if the power is out!?!?"

The response was, you need solar tiles feeding your wall battery... all done by Tesla.
