Company has been around since 1987. Some of today's traders weren't even born yet. I watched every episode of Miami Vice. They developed a drug for Ebola. It failed. They have been trying to turn that drug into a flu vaccine. Bringing the drug to phase 3 trials. keeps failing. Now they are trying to develop a Covid vaccine. To get to phase 3, nobody in phase 1 or 2 died. The company is good at getting funding. It's a successful business. Just not successful as a drug maker. Do you believe that they could finally succeed?
well they got $1.6 billion from the government - so i guess they must have something with good potential to succeed. but things can change very fast - and the stock might go down fast too.
She's crashing now but I do think come April or better yet May will come back at least a ways. We need a good u.s. phase 3 trial conclusion along with some $ coming in from advance purchases of the vaccine. Per the earnings call last week they have 800 million in the bank so they should survive for a while. I'm down 40% in novavax so I hope my long term outlook is right. If I lose it all, I'm out $2500. It hurts but not the end of the world.
The high in jan was $329 or so and I bought at 240 I think and a few more at 231. Had the earnings report last Friday not sucked and the shares went up, I could have been sitting pretty. The vaccine news itself was very good but the financials were not. I kept most of my shares because I thought the bottom wouldn't be as low as it is now, or worse. But thats life. I guessed wrong. Some people think they can call em all but that ain't reality for anyone.
I should add that 120 for the support price would bite for me but should the vaccine news go well in April and May, maybe I get some of the losses back.
