They do it all the time. They don't allow pornography, classified information, certain kinds of violence... IMO, Twitter's argument is actually very solid. They left Trump's account open and unsuspended all this time in the spirit of democracy and free speech. But, when he used the platform to support a coup (and, key point, a coup that was actually attempted), he was subverting the spirit of democracy and violating the basic regulations behind free speech (no inciting violence).
Couple things: 1) Here’s an article - 150 topics the majorities of Rep and Dem agree upon. https://publicconsultation.org/defe...ch-majorities-of-republicans-democrats-agree/ 2) President Trump speech is here. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.al...ript-donald-trump-january-6-incendiary-speech Please point out the parts that show Trump supportive of an “insurrection” (a violent uprising against an authority or government)
Plus "stand back and stand by", his refusal to condemn the plot to kidnap Michigan's governor, his tardiness in (mildly) criticizing the domestic terrorists (while still talking about election fraud again and again). Trump is smart enough to always give himself outs. He never directly says "go hang people". But he is constantly winking and dog-whistling to his supporters both in his rhetoric and in the way he condemns bad actions. The whole "election fraud" conspiracy is completely created out of thin air.
I like TWTR but this looks like an extended hourly bear flag to me. Obviously there's a lot going on in the tech sector right now, so this could easily break up as well. Bullish case: If this breaks the flag to the upside, I'd expect $70.53 to be resistance, then $74.50 Bearish case: If this breaks the flag to the downside, I'd expect $64.31, then $61.82.
Well, once it lost that ascending trend line, it bounced off my support level a little, but has now lost it. Next one is $61.82
Twitter has come up with its answer to subreddits and Facebook groups Twitter announced Communities, a new feature letting users congregate around specific interests on the site by joining semi-private groups. Communities will have moderators who determine rules and social norms within the groups. In a promotional video for Communities, one Twitter user writes a tweet and then sends it to [a community named] “Black Women Photographers.” A user needs to select “Everyone” to tweet to the masses. That will allow users to direct specific messages to smaller groups of people with shared interests rather than tweeting to all of one’s followers. A tech journalist, for example, can finally tweet hot takes about the New York Yankees without risking losing followers (such as Met’s fans). One just has to find a Yankees fan community first. [T]he tweets are still publicly viewable for anyone checking out the group, but they won’t aggregate on followers’ feeds or a user’s profile. The new groups Twitter is testing will give niche groups more control over who sees (and doesn’t see) their conversations, and give users an easier way to check in and see what these communities are saying. Twitter ultimately wants to improve conversations on its site, but it is doing so by further segmenting its users and their experiences. source: https://qz.com/2056584/twitter-is-taking-on-reddit-and-facebook-with-its-new-feature/
I just found out TWTR has an 80% growth rate; and a forward P/E of only 50 to go with that. Watching for it to get over $70, the high from 2014 (more than 7 years ago). Monthly chart:
Elon buys 9% of Twitter for $3b I guess this is one way to take care of the free speech problem he speaks of! Money is speech!
Now Elon is straight up trolling Twitter And all the smart ones out there thinking his 9% stake gives him authority over the board to make decisions on how to run Twitter.
Yeah, after reading the fiduciary responsibilities of being on the board, he realized he can't troll, manipulate and smack talk without sever repercussions. So its better to just not be on the board
Its so painful to watch people on twitter still thinking that Elon is going to buy the company because he loves free speech so much! This is the same Elon that tried to pay off that kid to stop tweeting about the location of his private jet, which is public information.
The game has just begun. Elon has not lost, although he might. I make no predictions other than I predict this will be fun to watch.
and there it is, a gapper, a small one, but i'll take it. enjoy the show. be sure to tip your waiter on the way out.
