I think it’s just spun in the media as WSB retail investors with millions of dollars vs the hedge funds, but really it’s retail investors + hedge funds vs the other hedge funds. The biggest winners in the first squeeze were hedge funds after all, not bad holding retail investors.
You have to learn how to swim with the sharks instead of becoming a meal. Sadly some blindly follow and are always a step behind. I personally know a few on WSB, I stand by my statement.
Right. There are so many that assume ALL hedge funds must be short, but there are plenty of hedge funds happily playing both sides of this.
I'm not on that side. They work both sides, compete, some if not most actually play with options. Ultimately they have the upper hand, but those that can swim both ways stand a better chance in the ballgame. In the case of GME the short side got caught in a game of suicide. We both know the funds jumped in heavy and played it both ways and continue to do so. Big money has no boundaries.
I first used margin in the mid 80's. The margin call that I received after the Black Monday crash in '87 taught me that if you're going to use margin, understand risk management and utilize it properly. I've used margin since but I have never since opened myself to the risk I took on back then. Good judgement comes from experience Experience comes from bad judgement
I personally think people are waiting for earnings. I'm expecting a lot of swing trades tomorrow/Wednesday.
Hmmmm....."Gamestop loses second senior exec Frank Hamlin (customer officer)(?) as shakeup deepens." *Ringing gong* O Mysterious One Rustic, is this another positive move for The Future Gamestop? (Places cookies, scotch and ice cream upon altar, awaits Rustic's return)
Trimming the fat and moving forward with the intended overall plan. Mr. Cohen " ahem" has a solid history and I can assure you if the dog was dying he wouldn't be trying to revive it. This quarter will be positive but minimal. Its going to take a couple to see better results of the well engineered plan. This isn't BLOCKBUSTER. A lot of the dead weight retail stores are being shut down and obviously leaning towards online strategy. I wouldn't bet the farm yet, best to wait. Notice the short interest is notably low. My guess 50 bucks a share will probably not happen. I prefer thong bikinis over scotch anyday.
