Here is a list of software that helps to minimize PC problems. If you have any others, please don't hesitate to list them. free anti-malware software https://www.malwarebytes.com/ free open source internet security software. I have not tried this software yet, but I hear it's really good. https://www.snort.org/
either you love these guys or hate them....I've used Norton products since windows 3.0...yes, I'm that old http://us.norton.com/internet-security
Ha Ha, I might have used version 2 not sure it has been so long ago. I moved on to AVG and now just use anti-virus that comes with Windows 7 and a couple malware programs I run. I haven't had any problems in along time...knock on wood
Norton and McAfee always made me want to put my head through the wall as they slowed down my computer more than they helped anything! Should be called NOOOOOrton and McCrapee
all you need is windows defender and malwarebytes. If you want to clean up registry cc cleaner is worth looking into. I can't say I've ever had a virus on any of my computers, ever.
after trying many of those mentioned + Kaspersky (it blocked my PC when I run the platform ) I went back to AVG I never had a problem ... got few virus blocked etc.... even their PR are very good and helpful ... that to me it is worth a lot I did use CC cleaner.... agree with IchiF was very good
so, everyone hates Norton...lol...I agree, they used to be a lot better...now they are mega intrusive into your OS
@Tiptopptrader & @Gil Oren lmao...there wasn't any computer viruses back then that I know of...there were hackers though.
I have been using Norton Products for the last 10 years. They tend to work better than other products for me.
Funny you mentioned hackers. I met a hacker that had his wrists slapped by the Fed. I sat there and watched him run two keyboards at the same time on a PC. He later got one of my friends hooked and stayed at his house for a short time as his wife said he either he goes our I go...Very smart guy I hope he put his talents to better use
Just the mention of Norton brought back really terrible memories. And I swear McAfee is actually impossible to get rid of. It's like a cockroach that will survive an atomic bomb. You do everything to delete it, and it's still there! I feel like I did a full reformat once, wiping the computer clean, and it was STILL there. Actually, probably not, but you get what I mean.
Malwarebytes is definitely good, saved me a few times after my PC got some kind of virus. Anyone here has used Avast before?
