This a.m. is sure looking nice. Just about everything of mine in both accounts is firmly green. That which isn't, the red is negligible. I had put the the last 4% of my ira into AMTX which was a bust so I dumped it this morning and sunk it into IVV and VOO. My stock account, I sold KLIC to lock profits and bought IVV with it plus additional shares of CSSEP which has been doing great. Price targets were recently raised quite a bit so I'm pretty happy with it.
Forgot to mention, my IRA is up 3.38% since I took it over on 3/31. Maybe the mutual funds might have done just as well, who knows. Some, like AFMBX and PRJQX have done ok this month but some of the others like OGIIX are flat or down. Hard to say.
we had a huge yard when i was a kid. my older brother and i used to have to push one of these. by the time we finished cutting it was time to start over again. when my two younger brothers were old enough to cut the grass, parents bought a riding mower.
Never seen one like that. We had a reel mower growing up which was hard to push. One like this one below. Dad replaced that I think with an electric mower powered by a 100 ft extension cord that always got in the way. It was a pain moving a cord that long out of your path.

Good morning all, haven't posted a lot, but I have been reading on here regularly. I have a question, Is there a major difference between VOO and IVV? Just wanted others opinions, I do own VOO. I had owned IVV, but through my research, I thought they were very similar. Also, does anyone thinks the Coinbase stock will be overpriced coming out. Just saw the new price now around $365.00.
LAWN MOWER discussion......YES. My grandmother had one of those old push mowers. It worked great....but....the grass was very thin. That mower you had looks AMAZING....EMMETT. I wish we had one that nice. I had to also mow the lawn as a kid. We had various gas mowers.....none would ever start. The WORST one was a mower that had a crank on top instead of a rope that you pull. You would wind the crank and then....the crank was on a hinge.....you would slam the crank down to the top of the mower and it.......was supposed.....to start. I was lucky to have pretty severe pollen and grass allergies.......they got so bad that my dad could not stand all the sniffling, and blowing my nose, and itching and red eyes after I mowed so he took over.....at least until he went to Viet Nam....than I mowed again for my last two years of high school......still with that CRAPPY mower with the winder.

BUT.....if you watch various SP500 Index Funds and ETF's...you will notice that there is a difference......VERY SMALL.....in how they do each year. For a while I noticed that the Vanguard SP500 Index fund.......over a period of years...... seemed to perform better by a very small amount compared to Schwab. Lately the Schwab has been a little better. I am talking very TINY differences. SO.....from a practical stand point.....there should be no difference over the long term.
RANDOM THOUGHTS We will see a few companies report earnings this week that are NOT banks......Alcoa, Delta, Rite Aid, Pepsi, and a few others. Spread across a few industries....they might give us a very slight CLUE as to the upcoming earnings. Bernie Madoff.....died today......definitely an investing thread topic. When he was caught...I was amazed by how many HEDGE FUNDS were piggy backing off his fund.
I have had an order in since last night. I am curious to see if it executes. I am NOT encouraging anyone else to buy Coinbase.......a very dangerous trade. I have set my trade criteria......1-30 days....a goal of $5000 to $10,000 profit......a potential loss of $10,000 to $15,000 worst care. Markets are STRONG, CRYPTO is UP, my portfolio is at a record high, etc, etc......so I am going to take the gamble. Emphasis on......GAMBLE.

Well......I bought 120 shares of COIN right at the open (for the stock) at the opening price of $381. AND.......sold at $370.......for a loss of about $1300. I just did not like what I was seeing with the stock today....so I decided to cut it lose and NOT take the risk. LOL.....I am definately NOT a trader....at least this time. OH WELL....good for a little entertainment for the day. Off to the airport.

Back in the 90s, I learned that I have no stomach for downturns when holding a company I don't believe in. It has been critical to believe in the companies I hold or I would be urged to sell at the first dip. I profoundly believe in Tesla and have since late 2015. It was easy to hold through the onslaught of media bullshit, trying to kill the company or, at least, suppress the stock price. Confidence made all the difference. At least, it did for me. But keep trying. Hopefully, you will get your trading program dialed in before VOO gains another 50%. lol!
I STILL HATE that mower. That might be the same model we had.....since ours was in the 1965 to 1968 time period.
Well I just got back a short time ago. I knew there was not going to be any hope to be in the green today....but I looked anyway. YES....solid in the RED. AND.....got beat by the SP500 by .66%. EVEN the DOW faded and ended up POORLY....yet still positive...at the end of the day. Absolutely ZERO conviction in the markets today once they got started. At least the futures are positive....at the moment.
