If that's the USA in 2024, does that mean he thinks Biden's gonna get that done :p

It would be interesting to watch him run for president though.

He meant it as a joke. Biden works in a cloud of mystery, personally I dont think he even knows what he is going to do.:cool2: Showing weakness to the World leaders is not a good strategy, they are drawing lines in the sand and daring him to cross them. He killed a pipeline project WAY to early. The border situation is a mess. Need I say more? :D

Didn't mean to get into politics, was just joking about his meme saying 2024

So many new EV companies kicking off their efforts.

This is great for the sector!

Here is the prospectus template they use.

    Vapour EV Inc.

    Series B Funding

2,000,000 shares of class B common stock are offered at $150 per share
    Minimum investment is 2000 shares

After a couple of years of enjoying the startup money, Vapour EV Inc. intends to explore the idea of becoming an electric vehicle manufacturer. We now mention the brand "Tesla" in this prospectus as a demonstration of IPO value.

Vapour EV Inc. reserves the right to IPO more issue any time Tesla is doing well. Praise to Allah and the secretary who is currently under the desk of the author of this document.

If the specs can be believed, the Mercedes EQS is a more efficient platform than the Tesla Model S.

MBZ claims Cd of 0.20. Gotta say... it doesn't look it. If they can get a Cd of 0.20 with that fascia and those wheels, they must have formed a pact with Satan.

If this turns out to be true, it will be impactful. For now, I remain interested but skeptical.

That is a good looking EV there, but like you, I need to see real world stats!

I share your appreciation of the EQS aesthetic. With so many hideous EV designs, it's nice to see a company other than Tesla make an EV the average person wouldn't be embarrassed to own.

Renault electric cars from the 70s&80s. :D
A blast from the past. :lauging:

I could imagine Elon tokin on a bowl back then thinking, hmmm, maybe I could revolutionize the World and bring all of the carmakers to their knees. :cool2: The rest is history. :D

I'm not sure what to think about the Tesla/Toyota partnership rumor.

It doesn't sound plausible but I don't know anything about it, other than reading the rumor.

The reason it doesn't sound plausible is because Tesla doesn't have enough batteries for it's own EV programs, so I'm sceptical they will re-allocate batteries to a joint venture. Further, Toyota has partnered with Aurora on self driving, so it would be odd for them to use Tesla's self driving system.

What else would Toyota need from Tesla to build a car? Motors, perhaps?

Clearly, Tesla needs nothing from Toyota to build EVs.

I will say that I would go from an EV fan / spectator to owner if I could buy a Toyota EV that would be fixed at Toyota dealerships and use the Tesla Supercharger network.

Here is a tid-bit I picked up that may put "Tesla vs the world" into perspective.

I estimate the New York Gigafactory is currently scaled to produce approximately 8000 Superchargers per year.

The Shanghai Supercharger factory has a designed output of 10000 Superchargers per year. I don't know the current output of the Shanghai factory but I believe it has been operational for a while.

We were seeing Y samples coming out of Shanghai in early November 2020. For some reason, they are just now producing early production units.

I expected to see early production units in January. They are three months late.

I'm sure there is a story behind this but I don't know what it is. If anyone can shed some light on this, I would appreciate it.

Perhaps they didn't have enough cells to produce the Y?

Perhaps the MIC Y will be the first production vehicle to have 4680 cells (seems like an extreme long shot, to me)?

At this point, I have read two different reports on the MIC Model Y. One is that Tesla shipped 9000 units in Q1. This one seems more believable.

The other report is that Tesla has built 50 MIC Model Y that will go to employees in the next couple of weeks.

Sometimes, finding good information about Tesla is a bit tricky.

    - The first planned production of solid state EV batteries is QuantumScape in 2024. Other companies aim for 2025 to 2026.

    - SSB is said to have a 20% energy density advantage over existing cells. That's not a lot, considering the pace of development at Tesla and what they have projected to achieve in the next three years.

    - The Tesla design center in Shanghai appears to be externally complete. I have no information about internal fitments but this will be a big deal to for the Chinese market.

    - Elon has tweeted that auto pilot was not engaged during the fatal Spring, TX accident involving a Tesla with no one in the driver's seat.

    - It's been 7 months since Battery day when Elon said volume production of 4860 cells were 12 to 18 months away. The structural pack design should have running prototypes soon, if there isn't already one.
