I was offered a Tender for my shares of EFT...I own 271 shares in a inherited IRA. Should I take the tender....the (Transmittal Paper work is 20 pages long)....$14.55 per share. Sell the stock outright on my own..............$14.45 per share. Or just leave it alone...Morgan Stanley is taking it over July 31,2021. Thanks!
Since none of us know your personal financial situation, its impossible for anybody here to make the call for you. Do you want to keep the 5% dividend or sell and move that money into something more aggressive like a Tesla?
I dont need the money, just trying to understand a tender and hope that morgan stanley keeps it growing.
If I understand the situation, the shares are held in an account that is not under your name. The broker can't keep shares in an account that is not under your name. The only way to get the shares out of the account is to either sell them and give you the cash, or transfer them out. If you have your own account somewhere, just transfer them there and take your time making what ever decision you want.
Merrill Edge self directed in my name. Just wandering why my internet searches said always take the tender offer. And one person told me take the tender or sell out right because the stock once taken over could be worth nothing. So I should let it be, dont sell or take the tender offer. Morgan Stanley is just trying to acquire enough shares to be primary or majority share holders?
I really have not dug too deeply into EFT, but it just comes down to whether or not you want to hold and collect that dividend, or if you see that money going to work somewhere else which is better.
