Bank stocks on fire lately Reopening trades seem to be working again with those travel/casino stocks doing well. Tech under pressure today
Haven't had a real big negative TICK today, kinda strange considering only 15% of stocks are up. Whereas when we hit the bottom on the 20th there was a TICK under -1500.
Just came back to this form a few days ago, it is very inactive compared to what it was a few years ago.
I can't believe the airlines were doing so well this month. But I'm still not a fan, the industry needs to modernize in America. JETS etf resistance at $25. The bank etf XLF reversed today at a quadruple top, but it looks like it is going to break through that at some time as the 200 ma is coming up to support it. Value stocks outperforming growth stocks. Semiconductors down almost -4% today.
Yeah I was a little surprised how well those hotels names were doing last week. Have been holding for MAR for months and finally able to get out with a profit last week Bought the tech dips a little bit today, not too aggressively though.
Whelp after being out the game for a couple months, I am jumping back in. Yesterday saw some quality stocks pull back so hopefully I can score some good deals tomorrow. Currently looking at Google, Hasbro, Peloton, Ally Financial, Virgin Galactic (only because it is at 23.45$, I think this stock has great upside but a loooooong way from being profitable), Activision Blizzard @76$ (think they will see a nice bounce back above 85-90$ come December), SunRun @43$ (Quality Solar stock at a good price)... Airbus aka EADSY.... Love CitiGroup also. Americold aka COLD is at it's lowest price in 2 years... definitely going to be looking more into this. Nike is back down to 145$... I sold my shares of NKE a few months ago at 170$ and feel confident in NKE to climb back from 145$\ Glad I sold off BABA before the China stocks dove off a cliff but at 150$ I think BABA is a slam dunk to rebound as well.... VOO ETF will be getting a portion of tomorrows moves. Looking to be a busy day for me
Panic buying of fuel in UK sparks fears doctors, teachers won't get to work (cnbc.com) Power shortages in China hit homes and factories prompting global supply fears | China | The Guardian Energy crisis going on around the world
Why is there a fuel shortage? I skimmed and read that they have a worker shortage, is that it? Another article I read about the power shortage in China pointed the finger partially at environmental controls (also higher prices). Goldman Sachs lowered their growth forecast for China (8.2% to 7.8%) due to the shortage. I know the stock market has bounced back completely from the first wave of COVID; but we can't close the book yet on what the pandemic has done to economies. I'm still waiting for COVID treatments to come out.
Yeah I have read so many different reasons on why there is power shortage in China and I can't tell which one is correct. Seems like the surging coal price is a problem for them. I would like to see COVID treatment one day too. Might do some researches on what companies are working on the treatments, for now it seems like they still mainly focus on developing the vaccines.
Been on vacation for a little over a week. Well more like staycation, didn't do much just burned some vacation time at home. Didn't check in here at all either. Hope you're all doing well!
Hope you had a nice vacation. Staycation has been popular during the peak of the pandemic, I actually stayed for a few days at a local resort earlier this year when there weren't too many tourists
