Thx bigly time for that Marcy! The same to you and your family as well. Meanwhile, @Sundance I couldn't help but think here, but your name admittedly rings a bell to me. You wouldn't happened to have been a member at our old community (HSM) would you? When I get back from all of the holiday festivities, think ima look through my HSM archives and see if I happen to stumble across your name. Feel like my hunch is correct, but feel free to confirm this as a fact whenever you can get a chance. Thanks. Happy Friday everyone!
Yep will be interesting to see if Santa will be in the town next week for the market, it is a bigger question mark this year with COVID cases seem to be going up again, the more hawkish FED and high inflation, etc. A lot of headwinds for the market to overcome this time around
Here is the quick look at the notable ERs as well as the highest vol ERs for next week. (Nothing too terribly noteworthy as earnings season has all but concluded as we are winding down on the year here). Have a good weekend guys, and great holiday-shortened trading week ahead! Remember that this coming Friday both cash and futures markets will be closed in observance of Christmas Day (as Xmas falls on a Saturday -- hence the market observing it the day before Xmas Eve on Friday). Will catch up with y'all's in the New Year! Oh and also here is the Reddit market week ahead thread for anyone lookin' for a quick read over this weekend: https://www.reddit.com/r/StockMarket/comments/rj5lbv/wall_street_week_ahead_for_the_trading_week/
ooo i just noticed EW went holiday-themed for this coming week. might be the first time i've seen that. not too shabby haha.
BTW, super strange observation here maybe from me. But anyone else notice how that circle/oval around the letter M in MU's logo kinda looks like "OMicron? Might just be me tho not sure haha.
Will The Russell be our canary in the coal mine? It often is. We will find out soon. This looks like important support and it also looks like a bull flag on the weekly. I would guess downside resolution wins out short term next 1-3 months.
And the afternoon turn around. Grabbed 1 in my playtrade account. Its getting healthy green, may hold a day or three.
I think Biden speaking tomorrow. As long as he doesn't mention anything about the lockdown, I like the chance that we will see a little bit of a rally tomorrow
Ok. Yesterday, I entered long at 4540 and exited today at 4620 for risk management and profit taking. I didn't expect yesterday for it to drop into my buy zone but it happened. But, like last time, it could shoot up well beyond the level I exited, but I don't care. I'm sticking with my trading plan. I'd rather focus on a steady, meaningful profit rather than being greedy and having a deeper draw down than I like
OK a pretty nice rally today, those sectors that outperformed (staple, utility, healthcare) are underperforming today Let's see if this rally has some legs left, still don't feel super bullish with inflation running hot and the FED is speeding up the taper.
Looks like volatility is done for the year most likely as we head into the holiday season Leaning more bearish for January though after some beginning of the year buying is done. For the last week of the year, probably will just look for some beaten down stocks/sectors to play for a bounce at the beginning of next year
