Just found out that the market will be opened tomorrow, I was assuming the market will be closed tomorrow since the New Year is on Saturday
Not sure about the Chinese stocks to be honest, might not be more room to get short but not sure it's a compelling long now either! https://alphapicks.co.uk/2021/12/13/alibaba-baba-shares-still-room-to-get-short/
Just a short term play for me but yeah Chinese stocks are not really investable until we see less regulatory risks there. I just played FXI for a possible bounce, not working great so far and not working terrible, hopefully it will work in my favor later this week
Got in some names that didn't do so hot last year to play for a bounce in the early part of the new year, some are doing pretty well (STNE, T, VIAC, GPN), some are not doing so well (TWTR, FXI) lol
I just do not see, why big tech should crash in 2022. They just keep on growing bigger. This is not like the dot.com bubble - with many overvalued companies and zero profits. I'm still bullish for tech in 2022.
FAANG names (maybe excluding NFLX) along with names like NVDA, TSLA and CSCO, etc. should be ok even if they are gonna underperform just a little bit against those so called value stocks on rising yields, those that are not profitable and trading at 30/40/50 Price/Sales ratio might still have a lot of downside if yields are rising very quickly.
I was thinking the ARK names might get a little bit of a bounce at this time of the year after getting beaten down last year but I guess not happening if yields continue to rise at a pretty rapid pace
Oh ok it makes sense. We had some eye popping number for COVID cases yesterday U.S. counts over 1 million new daily Covid cases in global record (cnbc.com)
FED Minutes tomorrow at 2 PM, let's see if it will mention anything about rate hikes and might send yields higher yet again
Yen getting hammered Nikkei might have another good day later today with the weak yen and the US market didn't have a selloff
Might buy a little bit if the selloff continues but I am gonna be pretty picky with these growth stocks, will look for those lower valuation ones rather than richly valued like SNOW, MDB and NET, etc
