Federal Reserve Board - Closed Board Meeting - February 14, 2022 Looks like an emergency meeting next Monday, maybe they will hike rates by 0.25%
Top of the morning Stockaholics! Happy Monday to all of you! And welcome to the new trading week and a frrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrresh start! Here is a quick check on those futures as we are just over 3 hours from the cash market open. GLTA on this Monday, February the 14th, 2022.
btw, i didn't get a chance to post this in here over this weekend but is this week's whispers calendar:
Morning Lineup: 2/14/22 - Russia, Russia, Bullard Mon, Feb 14, 2022 It was looking like a rough start to the week as European equities traded down well over 2% and US futures were lower by more than 1%, but comments from Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov that appeared to open the door to diplomacy have caused some relief and a rebound in futures. Now, attention has shifted to St. Louis President James Bullard who is being interviewed on CNBC for further insight into his views on inflation. After two weak days heading into the weekend, all of the major averages closed out last week back below their 200-day moving averages (DMA). As recently as Wednesday, the DJIA (DIA) was above its 50-DMA, but Thursday's CPI and subsequent comments from Bullard and then the Russia tensions on Friday pushed the index back below both of those levels. For the Russell 2000 (IWM), neither the 50 nor 200-DMA ever even came into play last week. The Nasdaq 100 (QQQ) managed to barely close above its 200-DMA on Wednesday but closed out the week near its lows as sellers took control. Last but not least, the S&P 500 (SPY) looked to make a run for its 50-DMA on Wednesday but couldn't quite get there before the tide turned into the end of the week. In down trending markets, moving averages shift from acting as support to resistance, and based on the last several days of trading, moving averages for the major indices have increasingly acted as a ceiling on prices rather than a floor.
VIX over 30, and volume increasing. Doesn't look like the bottom is in yet. We could see VIX over 40 this week.
ye, doesn't look like any real true bottoms yet. admittedly i was targeting the 200ma as my first target on this leg down from the bounce highs. took that out pretty convincingly on friday. now looking for a retest of the correction lows. but don't think we'll get there in a one fell swooping move. btw, for anyone wondering. no i never got stopped out of my spuz short contracts yet. been trailing my stops down every time we make a move lower. had my stop at 4450 before friday's close as that was about 6 or so handles above the 200ma but that never got touched in the overnight trading. like is said on friday though, i just unfortunately don't have the time to monitor/babysit this trade, so i just have trailing stops in place and keep lower that as we make lower lows so at least i'll get a nice realized profit when that time does come. giving it a bit of wiggle room though cause i do want to stay in this trade for a bit while longer and not looking to add on either, as my convictions for further downside remain pretty sky high here. happy valentine's day to y'all's in here! <3 hope you guys all having another wonderful day today.
Stocks remain volatile due to the hawkish FED and the possibility of war Gold is shining though with investors getting a little bit nervous
Oh....how on Earth do I update my signature block??? I feel like I've clicked on everything in my profile, to no avail

Shares of several companies in the semiconductor space are trading higher following Intel's acquisition of Tower Semiconductor, which helped lift the sector. Tech stocks also continue to rebound from January's selloff. Feb 15, 2022 10:49a ET
Looks like some positive development in Russia overnight is sending the market higher today despite the PPI this morning was much higher than expected
The reopening stocks are doing well. Hotels (ABNB, Hyatt), theme parks (SEAS), and airlines holding up this month.
The RBLX drop is a pretty bad look, for the metaverse. See if it can turn it around on the conference call. UPST popping 25%, but didn't it lose 75% already? C'mon, SNAP got +60% in one after hours.
Yeah I have been playing HLT and BKNG for the last few months but too bad I am not holding any share as of now
For UPST, I still have a small position at $52.99, good to see it is doing well after earnings I guess
