Ive played Rivian a bit and do see some potential but its a high risk, high reward stock. In my opinion. I have also been looking at Mullen Automotive a bit also, an EV maker in California that makes some pretty nice EV's. Their compact SUV is dope.
It hurts my head to think about the POV most people seem to have that Tesla, Rivian, Lucid, BYD, et al. are all EV stocks and, therefore, the same. This lack of cognition is the space active investors like us can live in and prosper in.
for those of you who may not be as hip as ddebrazza and i are, dope means very good. also, i either saw 2 rivians today or the same one twice.
Probably the same one. I have never seen a Rivian on the streets, seeing 2 in the same area would be quite the anomaly. Unless you live where the HQ of Rivian is or something lol
dude, headquarters is 15 miles from my house. and teslas? forget it. i can't leave the house without seeing one of those. has to be between 5-7.5% of the cars i see.
Ah! lol, then that does make sense Yes, I live down in Phoenix, AZ and Tesla's are very common here as well. Probably no where close to 5% but probably 1 in every 75
therefore, can we conclude that the pricing of the vehicle is affordable to corporate management but not to the factory workers?
I know some guys who literally work in a factory and drive lifted pickup trucks with ridiculous wheels, stereos, etc. that cost them $100K.
Majority dont. I can say this because I used to work for Lucid Motors. It's just a production/ warehouse/ manufacturing job to most. In their case, their workers could never afford one of their cars. Why people like their stock is beyond me. Their product is absolute garbage. This coming from someone who has physically touched the inventory.
A lot of laid off people from my traditional auto manufacturer within the last year have ended up at Rivian.

Amazon is starting to deliver packages with Rivian electric vans Annie Palmer - 8h ago React4 Comments| Amazon is starting to roll out some of the electric delivery vans that it developed in partnership with Rivian, the companies announced Thursday. The vans will be deployed in a handful of cities to start, including Seattle, Baltimore, Chicago and Phoenix. The move marks a significant step forward in Amazon's efforts to decarbonize its last-mile delivery fleet, an effort which began in 2019 when then-CEO Jeff Bezos announced the company would purchase 100,000 vans from Rivian.
