My thoughts. Sure....nobody is ever going to use this for nefarious or damaging purposes. They will and we all know it. I did watch a program a while back and it basically pointed to the same outcome. Some of the programs would simply not discontinue their own existence. Some wild stuff.
I had another good day today....a BIG gain. Only two stocks in the RED....AAPL and COST. I also beat the SP500 by 0.43% today.
We are all set up for a BANNER WEEK. Powell has talked. The little spat seems to be over in the Middle East with Iran's nuclear aspirations SMASHED for now. Oil is back down to where it was. Etc, etc, etc. It would be nice to end the week with three GREEN days in a row. We have a good....probability....to do so.
Yes Smokie. Since these....thinking machines....are being built, set up, and programed by.....HUMANS.......and....being given access to ALL human knowledge.....they will have our innate desire to live.......as well as ALL of our flaws....lying, cheating, criminal behavior, etc, etc, etc. Off the cuff.....I would put our odds of surviving AI at about....50/50.....at best and probably actually much worse. AND if we happen to survive....that will only be because the machines either need us for some reason....or consider us irrelevant......or see us as some sort of toy to play with.
With the SP500 at about 6100 at the close today. I am reminded of my prediction at the start of the year to end 2025 at SP500......6800 to 6900. To hit my minimum of 6800 from here will take a gain of about....11.4%. Here is what some are saying. The ticker tells me that I am BOOMING to start the day. As has been the case recently there is NO negative news at all impacting the markets. QUICK.....someone make some up. It is a perfectly NORMAL day today in the markets. GOSH.....remember....it was just two months ago that we were in the middle of a nasty correction. The media and professionals were SCREAMING.....RECESSION. Than the tariff fear-mongering hit the fan.....and we were harangued with SCREAMS of......inflation and stagflation. Now.....we are right on the verge of.....ALL TIME HIGHS. The POWER of long term investing......in action. ENJOY.

Looks like the SP500 backed off to close slightly in the RED. I however, ended the day with a BIG gain.....thanks to good old NVDA and some others. I also beat the SP500 by......YES......1.84% today.

Like MSFT in the early glory days when they were providing the operating system to EVERY single computer in the world other than little upstart APPLE. I tend to agree with all the analysis above....in particular the price target of $250 or above....perhaps even significantly above.
So I'm finally making some headway on 2025 gains.... My Brokerage account is only up a measly 14.24% (I am going to need some real help from NVDA in order to get highest return on the board for a 3rd year in a row) My 401k is only up 9.27%. My HSA is up 25% In my opinion the HSA is one of the best investment vehicles a young health person can have. Do your own research. PROS: -At 65 years old you can spend it on ANYTHING you want so its pretty much like a roth ira that you can spend on medical expenses along the way -You can pay your medical expenses out of pocket, save the receipts and reimburse yourself at ANY time. So save up a lifetime of medical related expenses which for most will likely be over 6 figures and cash out and retire a year or two earlier than planned, or have them as an emergency fund. -Employers often contribute yearly! Mine does $400 for single and $800 for couple. -You contribute pre tax income. -Withdrawals for approved expenses are not taxed Cons: -Must have a high deductible health plan.
