    Thanks WXYZ.

It is funny how things work. Initially I joined HSM to mainly to learn, to better educate myself. That worked but main added value ended meeting, knowing a lot of good people. Back then and today, still aplies.
I allways thought and had this philosophy, if you wish and treat others well, good things will happen to you, including meeting great people everywhere! Traveling, working, at school....or on a web platform,

    Good memories from old users.
Bob Korreck was an helicopter engineer, back than already retired, living in Florida. He was a sweet man, sometimes short-tempered. He loved to gamble futures, and was here everyday.....a bit like WXYZ, our Stockcharts compass. Outside HSM I used to talk with him a lot, mainly in Skype back then. One Xmas I send him, by regular mail, one book for his wife about portuguese cuisine, and some bags of roasted coffe! Bob was an heavy coffe drinker!!
Sadly he passed away during a minor surgical procedure few time later. During the removal of an hernia. I think, if I remeber that right, something went wrong with anaesthesia. I received a message from his brother who told me what had happened with him.

Other notable member that passed here was Tiptoptrader, someone from LV if I remeber right. I remember he traying to convience me, per message buying AMD under 10$...

I owned AMD when it was right around 2 bucks. Just under, as I recall. That was before Ryzen 1 came out. I didn't follow semis like I do now. That was before we had data from companies in the channel, like Micro Center or the big European distribution houses.

Two years later, Ryzen 1 had been out for a while and the AMD party was in full swing. I sold at pretty nice gain and I haven't held it since. I missed out on 3/4 of the gains they've had from when I purchased it to date.

Some of that money was put into Tesla when every media article was declaring them bankrupt. There was a CNBC piece that said employees were complaining pay checks were bouncing and a couple of sources said Tesla had stopped production.

I seem to recall it was Bloomberg was the first place I read Tesla had stopped production amid financial trouble. Elon made a statement saying production was nominal and business was good. I knew they were in financial trouble but a couple of Redditors local in Fremont posted videos showing car haulers leaving the factory that very day.

At that point, I knew either Elon was lying or the entire garbage pile of media outlets were lying. So, I took a big fat wad of AMD cash and tripled my already uncomfortably large Tesla position at $16.15 in 2019.

My headspace involved working a nice contract, enjoying what I was doing, no concern for the future, and being absolutely aghast that legions of people were following Cramer. Cramer could say something negative or positive about a stock and it would immediately reflect. A great mob of people were following a guy pressing a box full of buttons that triggered whacky sound effects. I understand maturity and intellect are not directly connected but he was often wrong and spoke in vagaries like a clairvoyant. I guess you could say my respect for financial media was at a low. Little did I know, in the future my respect would drop to zero to be replaced with contempt.

So, when people declare that I made all of my money from Tesla, I find it an unfortunate revelation of ignorance. First of all, no. Second, I would have been almost as well off staying with AMD. Third, I never knew where AMD or Tesla were going in a specific way. I held them while I thought their future was bright and sold when I could see it would dim. I never had a clue of what the actual stock numbers would do. I follow companies and trust the stock will reflect. Often, the stock does not reflect. I try to buy or sell during periods the market gets the value wrong.

I am just getting caught up on all the posts! I haven't had much to say lately. I will stick around here until everyone moves over there. I'll make a login sometime this week and get the ball rolling. I think it's only a matter of time. My only opinion on the move is that new members being able to partake in the thread will enhance it and add to it's chances of long term survival.

I think most of us have some sort of AMD story. I started my investing in 2008/09 (pretty good time to start in hindsight but at the time being a young and relatively poor it was not for the faint of heart). Around 2015 I got into really putting some effort in my brokerage account. My first 'big' hit was MO (Altria Group) where I bought in pretty low and sold real close to the top. I can't remember if I tripled or quadrupled on that one but that was my first taste of winning. It just so happens that when I was selling that I put that large chunk in a struggling chip company, AMD. Eventually all the AMD was transitioned into NVDA. Now I hold both NVDA and AMD and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.

When you go to the other site....Tiresmoke....it is pretty confusing. But you should be able to click on the long term investor near the top. Than scroll way.......way.....down to see the posts and further down to see the posting box. Once you get the hang of it...it is pretty basic to use.

Green is green....I will take it and move on.

From what I see day to day....the economy is BOOMING......but no one will admit it. A STEALTH ECONOMIC BOOM. The financial media....totally lost and wrong as usual. I suspect on purpose since they live and die from clicks and positive reporting does NOT generate clicks.

    Spending Money

    https://awealthofcommonsense.com/2026/08/spending-money/

....."High inflation is no fun to deal with. It’s a terrible time to buy a house. Wealth inequality feels like it’s always getting worse.

But people still have jobs. Consumers are still spending lots of money. Household balance sheets are in good shape.

As long as the economy keeps growing and the unemployment rate remains relatively low, Americans will continue spending.

    It’s what we do best.".....

one thing I can’t stand about it over “there”

seems to me you have to double click everything, and then when you open the thread like W says, it’ll seem like the page just refreshed, but the thread opened it’s just way at the bottom. I don’t know why opening the thread wouldn’t take you to “ONLY” it?

I agree, it's not user friendly at all. But I only tried it on my smartphone.

    Hey Everyone.

Hang in there with the potential new site. BIGBEAR has some new site designs that are GREAT. Here is what I told him:

"LOVE this design. Simple, easy to navigate, elegant, clean and classic.

This sort of design would go a long way to facilitating us to move here as a PERMANENT home."

I hope he changes over to one of them. They eliminate all the messy clutter. If you are registered on his site look at the LONG TERM INVESTOR thread, page193...post 3858....to see the preview of the....."possible"...new design. they are very clean, very easy to move around, and very intuitive to use......a TOTAL upgrade.

They WILL attract and allow new people to join us.......that is the BIG ISSUE here besides recent SECURITY CONCERNS.......we have no way to grow.

YES......in business you have to keep your eye on the ball. Something a lot of big companies could benefit from keeping in mind....rather than focusing on....creating shareholder value....and treating customers as the "product".

The Customer Always Comes Before the Shareholder

    https://www.realclearmarkets.com/ar...ays_comes_before_the_shareholder_1198677.html

Big companies could also benefit from KNOWING that their REAL shareholders are the little retail investors....who want to see dividends, stock splits, and other "old time" corporate management focus on the business.....NOT....some big shareholder that is just there to break up the company.

It is AMAZING how the media is already FEAR-MONGERING SPCX. Give me a break....this stock is a LONG TERM hold....not a few month trade. The little people.....us retail investors.....are right as usual.

SpaceX stock got cut in half, but retail investors keep piling in: Chart of the Day

    https://finance.yahoo.com/markets/s...eep-piling-in-chart-of-the-day-100000031.html

SpaceX's share lockup ends today, and it could trigger more selling
Others on the Street may see it as a buying opportunity, making it a real test for investors.
