it is amazing to see how easily it recovered. I think it was down almost 7-8% AH yesterday and here we are. I think it was positive at some point too. This is a clear proof of AMD bulls strength. I like it.
Mid BB has been a great support so far, it hasn't broken it since Q1 ER. let's see if we can continue to be on the upper side
Yup bounced pretty nicely again, obviously job report helped too. If I wasn't already heavily invested, I would play it for a swing trade next time it gets back to BB
Off the highs and a market rally taking place it appeared it was not a stellar day for AMD. When you consider that the semi's were mostly down including NVDA down a percent it was a decent day
Jefferies sees 22.44% upside on the stock; says more upside could come from non-gaming, semi-custom design wins and another IP deal by year-end Mark Lipacis, Jefferies analyst reiterated a Buy rating on Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMD) stock and raised his price target from $6.75 to $9. The price target reflects a potential upside of 22.44% over the last close of $7.35. The analyst also raised his estimates on AMD citing recently conducted channel checks that increased visibility to AMD’s product cycles. Mr. Lipacis specifically highlighted that AMD’s new Zen 8 core high Summit Ridge CPUs that are slated for October release, could obtain a share in mid-to-high end desktops, as suggested by recent channel checks. He also highlighted AMD’s successful launch of Polaris, 14 nanometer FinFET GPU platform. Mr. Lipacis thinks that AMD’s Semi-custom design win at the unannounced Sony PlayStation Neo, will carry a higher average selling price. According to Jefferies analyst, the $5.78 billion company’s recent GPU share gains of 700 basis points are sustainable. He sees the potential for more upside from another IP deal by end of 2016, semi-custom design and non gaming wins. "AMD has diversified its revs from 100% PC to 58%/42% SC/PC," he commented. “AMD's success in the SC business has been limited to the gaming market, but the company expects to ramp a non-gaming, ARM64 solution in 2H16. AMD's SC target markets are Datacenter, Consumer & Embedded - we don't know but suspect Datacenter,” said Mr. Lipacis. In the meantime, the analyst expects the California based company to ramp another higher ASP in 2017 through Microsoft Xbox (Scorpio). For fiscal year 2016, Jefferies increased EPS estimates from ($0.21) to ($0.20), while increased EPS estimate for 2017 from ($0.06) to ($0.05). For 2016 revenue, Jefferies has estimated $4.13-$4.204 billion. For FY17, the firm has estimated revenue range of $4.236-4.712 billion. http://www.thecountrycaller.com/317...res-why-jefferies-raised-pt-fy1617-estimates/

The shorts put out there news articles, well not exactly news in most cases. Now it is the bulls turn. Will this be the start for a push above 8? To follow up on Leonx81's post> New Mainstream & eSports-Ready Gaming PCs Powered by 7th Generation AMD A-Series Desktop Processors Debut Globally SUNNYVALE, CA--(Marketwired - Sep 5, 2016) - AMD ( NASDAQ : AMD ) today announced that the first OEM systems to feature 7th Generation AMD A-Series desktop processors are now shipping, paired with the new AMD AM4 platform supporting DDR4 memory and next-gen I/O and standards. Designs, initially from HP and Lenovo, with other global OEMs designs to follow, deliver high-speed processing, smooth eSports gaming, and enhanced HD and UHD streaming capabilities, including the highest memory bandwidth to date for an AMD desktop platform. "The consumer release of these new HP and Lenovo designs is an important milestone for AMD on two fronts. First, it marks a major increase in productivity performance, streaming video and eSports gaming experiences sought after by today's consumers, delivered through our new 7th Generation AMD A-Series desktop processors. Second, because these new OEM designs also feature our new AM4 desktop platform, the motherboard ecosystem shows its readiness for our upcoming high-performance "Summit Ridge" desktop CPUs featuring "Zen" cores, which share the same platform," said Kevin Lensing, Corporate VP and general manager of Client Computing at AMD. Systems powered by 7th Generation AMD A-Series processors are productive, immersive, and energy efficient, with up to four "Excavator" CPU cores. 7th Generation AMD A-Series desktop processors consist of 65-watt and 35-watt versions, offering superior power efficiency and enabling flexible solutions in a wide variety of form factors. The new 7th Generation 65-watt A-Series processors deliver performance only realized at 95-watts with the previous generation1. In addition, when compared to the Intel Core i5 6500, the new 65-watt processors offer up to equivalent productivity performance2 and up to 99% higher graphics performance3. 7th Generation AMD A-Series desktop processors (previously codenamed "Bristol Ridge") also bring enhanced graphics capabilities and key video playback features that support up to 4K Ultra HD in both the popular H.264 and new-and-improved H.265 formats.4 These devices will also feature AMD Radeon Graphics Core Next graphics, with full support for Microsoft® DirectX® 12. The AMD AM4 socket is a new unified socket infrastructure that provides compatibility between 7th Generation AMD A-Series processors and the upcoming high-performance "Summit Ridge" AMD desktop CPU. AM4 platforms feature DDR4 Memory and next-gen I/O and peripheral support, including PCIe® Gen 3, USB 3.1 Gen 2, NVMe, and SATA Express. http://finance.yahoo.com/news/mainstream-esports-ready-gaming-pcs-130000561.html

@khuya diluting stock sure hurts but it is needed to pay down the debt. Believe that Nvidia had done the same thing in the past and by looking at where they are today that was a good move. AMD has good products in the pipeline and I am not selling my shares/calls and probably will continue in picking up shares at a lower price. Just my 2 cents and GL.
