Dow sells off by more than 150 points as focus shifts to Deutsche Bank, Fed http://www.marketwatch.com/story/wa...over-opec-deal-fades-2016-09-29?siteid=yhoof2
S&P took a dive yet Semis, the most over owned group, takes off. Totally out of whack and a clear sign there are forces screwing with as many people in as many ways as possible. This is not the market you want to be involved in.
Qualcomm (QCOM) in Talks to Acquire NXP Semiconductors (NXPI) - DJ Qualcomm (NASDAQ: QCOM) is in talks to acquire NXP Semiconductors (Nasdaq: NXPI), according to Dow Jones. The report said a deal could be stuck in the next two to three months. The takeover could value the company at more than $30 billion. Shares of NXP Semiconductors were halted briefly after spiking higher. http://www.streetinsider.com/dr/news.php?id=12084896 Both stocks popping
Not claiming I saw "this" coming but imo there has been signs of distribution for weeks now. I see it across the board (or at least I think I do) and it makes sense (or at least to me) if you think about the FED possibly "normalizing" or even "accelerating" when half the rest of the world is devaluing and we are near ath's. I just really think we see a way overdue sell off starting right about... now lol
I totally get that (the sarcasm) but there will be a time when buy the dip becomes sell the rip. And I don't think this has to do Deutsche at all, just an excuse imo.
Maybe this is the start of a broader sell off, but I would not get excited until the SP500 closes below 2120. Otherwise this is the same old stale money being redistributed, as the market osciallates up and down going nowhere.
Agreed, I honestly think this is the only way the algos and traders can make money in this stalling market. Eventually something has to give and this market will either take off or collapse. I am voting with my.money for the later.
A few of us have been the collapse side for a long time, but have come to terms with the fact that this market keeps floating higher regardless of what happens out there. One day there will be a shift in the longer term chart... one day
Gold and bonds not doing much, the yen is lower against the dollar, not really signs of panic just yet.
