An interesting interview with AuperMetalDave64: Emily Rogers: Why do you believe Nintendo NX’s GPU is from AMD? SuperMetalDave64: Nintendo has been quoted in saying that they are moving towards architecture integration with multiple devices. AMD has been pioneering heterogeneous design for their SOC’s for the last few years, allowing for different architectures to be used similarly to together on the same chip. AMD has also been the leading provider of all Semi Custom designs for current generation consoles, including the Wii U, Xbox One, Xbox One S, PS4, PS4 Slim, PS4 Pro and the upcoming Xbox Scorpio. Of the multiple design “wins” announced, AMD has has confirmed 2/3 with only one remaining which they are not able to discuss at this time, but will in the not too distant future. My strong opinion is that this SOC win will be for the Nintendo NX. When comparing the pioneering of SOC chip design for consoles for AMD vs Nvidia, the choice for myself is clearly AMD. Oculus unveils AMD-powered VR-capable $500 PCs, debuts ‘asynchronous spacewarp’ tech At its Oculus Connect event today, Oculus announced a new set of $500 systems designed for fast, smooth VR at a much lower price point. When the Oculus Rift launched this year, Oculus’ official minimum recommendation was an 900 system running a GTX 970. Today, the company described a new technology it’s invented, asynchronous spacewarp, that allowed it to bring VR to much more affordable computers without compromising the user experience. This is also the first time we’ve seen Oculus partner up with AMD and CyberPower to launch a new VR system configuration; the first round of recommended systems for VR used Nvidia GPUs. 433270-cyberpower-for-oculus Sources we’ve spoken to confirmed the GPU inside the new CyberPower PC is an RX 470. That GPU is somewhat less powerful than the GTX 970 Oculus formerly recommended as a minimum standard for VR, but that’s where asynchronous spacewarp comes in. Details on the new technology are a bit scarce, but here’s what we know so far. More: http://www.extremetech.com/gaming/2...-debuts-new-asynchronous-spacewarp-technology

As more time passes, more information that will make the features and the release of the iMac evident will be available. The world just has to wait for a little while longer. http://www.itechpost.com/articles/3...2016-packed-amd-radeon-polaris-5k-display.htm
AMD looking a little stronger as the markets have pulled back some from their highs. Important to break 6.97
AMD getting pounded and a victim of high short interest as the markets are melting down. Competitors INTC and NVDA are down as well. I have a bid in for NOV 4th $7 calls but I will let the price come to me if the markets worsen. You could call this a play on earnings that are on October 20th
AMD x86 Zen Architecture Will Implement Game Changing Encryption Features Such as SME, SEV and HW Based SHA – Not Present In SkyLake or KabyLake Read more: http://wccftech.com/amd-zen-encryption-sme-sev-hw-based-sha/
Considering those calls are after the ER I like your buy, Leon. I missed my my calls but I was gone and couldn't change my order. The shorts had their day today and the longs will have their day in the near term leading up to or on the ER date...IMO...If the shorts make another push we could test the 6.26 level. For it to happen I think they would need market assist like they got today or more felonious press. I can't say with certainty they will beat but but most likely the guidance will be good...TTT

Dr. Lisa Su, AMD president and CEO, discusses the company’s mission to build great products that allow people and businesses to push the boundaries of what is possible.
One other problems of late is the increase in short interest. Any hiccup and down she goes. On the other hand it could be the prelude to a short squeeze come the 20th. Currently AMD looks decent with the markets red. Short Interest http://www.nasdaq.com/symbol/amd/short-interest
@Tiptopptrader agreed. It appears that AMD is one of the most shorted Nasdaq Stocks. Hope we can have a good ER for an awesome short squeeze. AMD By the end of month, Advanced Micro Devices Inc. Remember this partially rumor but Vega could be a major catalyst if this comes to pass AMD Radeon RX 490 vs NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti: Vega 10 May Defeat Pascal The AMD Radeon RX 490 and NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti are the two most awaited upcoming chips. There are no official information coming from both companies yet, but the swirling rumors have already painted a pretty good picture of what gamers can expect. The AMD Radeon RX 490 May Sport A New Architecture It is rumored that the AMD Radeon RX 490 may be based on a new architecture by the chip maker. So far, the latest chips that have been released were still based on the Polaris 10 GPU. The most recent one, the RX 480, was made out of the most powerful configuration of the said GPU, WCCFTech confirmed. This corroborates rumors that the Polaris 10 GPU cannot be used further, Vega 10 is taking its place. This would enable the AMD Radeon RX 490 to perform better than its predecessor. According to the report, the new chip with the new architecture might have 12 teraflops and 16GB HBM2 memory on a 4,906bit bus. The AMD Radeon RX 490 should also have a base clock of 1,200 MHz,according to Videocardz. It is unknown how much the boost clock is going to be. How Does The NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti Compare? The NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti, on the other hand, is based on the Pascal architecture that was introduced earlier this year. The upcoming chip is an improved of the GTX 1080, which was the first chip to be based on Pascal. Though there is only an expected 10 teraflops of power, the GTX 1080 Ti makes up for it in the base clock, which is at 1,607 MHz. It can be boosted to 1,733 MHz. Its memory is a 12GB GDDR5X on a 320bit bus. These are only paper specs and still unconfirmed. As such, there is no clear winner yet. It is unknown how the two will perform in actual since they have not been released yet. It is said that the AMD Radeon RX 490 is arriving as soon as next month while the NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti has an expected early 2017 launch. Pricing is unavailable at this point, but the latter is rumored to be coming with a $700 to $800 price tag. http://www.itechpost.com/articles/40012/20161012/amd-radeon-rx-490-vs-nvidia-gtx-1080-ti-vega.htm
