I think they are doing good also, a lot of profit taking across the board. It seems that there is a lot of fear today, sitting on cash must be the name of the game at the moment. Only sure bet is there will be change.
The OBV indicator has always been one of my favorite indicators.Retreating to the top of the BB is not all that bad considering the run. If 7.50 can be broke in the next few sessions, then uptrend in place. 4 stocks to watch Advanced Micro Devices Inc. AMD, -0.27% had beautiful action on Tuesday, up 49 cents, or 7%, to 7.50, on 78.7 million shares traded. The move broke the stock out of two-month wedge, and the strong volume and On Balance Volume (OBV) indicator suggest this is going higher. Watch for a test of recent highs at 8.00, followed by a move toward the channel top near 9.75-10.00. http://www.marketwatch.com/story/4-stocks-to-watch-2016-10-26?siteid=yhoof2
Nice pop out the gate this morning to pull back with the markets.Treading water right now but green. Possibly AMD could pick up some strength on Apples live event if they cover the Macbooks http://www.macworld.com/article/3135865/macs/hello-again-live-blog-of-apples-october-27-event.html
Radeon Pro 400 Series Graphics: AMD's Most Powerful Ultrathin Graphics Processors* http://ir.amd.com/mobile.view?c=74093&v=203&d=1&id=2216742 Meet the Radeon Creators
Yeah. I don't think we'll see $8 before Zen comes out. And even then it's not certain. But I'm gonna hold regardless. Feeling risky!
This is a little more detail than we found out from the Apple event...IMO it will be the prelude to ZEN for Apple AMD pulls the veil off the mysterious Radeon GPU chip in Apple's new MacBook Pro If you didn’t notice, Apple showcased its new 15-inch MacBook Pro during Thursday’s press conference that packs an interesting new graphics processor: the AMD Radeon Pro 450 or Radeon Pro 455, depending on the model you pre-order. If you have never heard of these chips before, it is because they are part of AMD’s new Radeon Pro 400 Series launched on Thursday after Apple’s press event. Surprise! Billed as the company’s most ultra-thin graphics processors to date, AMD’s new Radeon Pro 400 Series is based on 14nm FinFet process technology, which is essentially a platform for cramming millions of fin-shaped transistors into a tiny graphics chip. Of course, the smaller the number, the more transistors manufacturers can cram into an equally sized chip. Right now, 14nm seems to be the new sweet spot. AMD also notes that its new GPU series is based on a process called “die-thinning” that reduces the wafer thickness in each chip down to 380 microns from 780 microns. While both numbers are rather small to begin with, 380 microns measures less than four stacked pieces of paper (1.5mm). These new GPUs also operate under 35 watts, drawing very little power and staying rather cool in the process. With that introduction out of the way, let us get to the scarce-but-meaty facts: The rest of the PR http://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/amd-radeon-pro-400-series-revealed-after-macbook-pro/
Good catch as usual Tiptop. Markets keeping everything down some. I bailed at 7.30. Keeping eye on AMD close though. Markets got me spooked a bit right now. May do some house cleaning and keep my eye out for some bargains to long right now. I like to wait for bottoms and play them back up. All the politics and economy, etc., can be a man's friend at times. I do miss some normalcy in the markets though. I don't foresee normalcy for a while to come though.
With the strong volume this morning there is a fair chance AMD will close above 7.50 for the next leg up to 8
That's because Hillary's new email probe sunk the market. If the market should go back green AMD could even take a bigger surge...stay tuned
While were watching the markets sink, here is a link to a video of Lisa Su on CNBC yesterday http://www.cnbc.com/2016/10/28/amd-...gh-performance-in-razor-thin-form-factor.html
