$AMD the demand index and on balance volume tell a bullish story. Not going to be easy pulling SP down if this continues.

Considering the run that was the smallest pull back I have witnessed for AMD as the Semi's and Nasdaq are down.as AMD and NVDA head north.

    On the road to 10.25...TTT

AMD's Deal With Google Is Significant

Recently, Advanced Micro Devices clinched a deal with Google to supply its FirePro S9300 x2 GPU in the latter’s cloud platform. AMD’s stock price has shot by close to 30% since the announcement of this deal. This is because this deal is quite significant for AMD, as most of the big players in the cloud storage market currently use Nvidia’s GPUs. According to some sources, Google’s cloud market share stood at 8% in 2016, just behind Amazon and Microsoft. In this analysis, we further elaborate on the reasons as to why this deal is significant for AMD.

Yep got out early. The sentiment is too strong this time around for any significant pull back even being overbought. The gap being filled yesterday was a good thing moving forward.

Buyout rumors are nothing to count on but you never know.

Sources Say Oracle In Final Stages Of Advanced Micro Devices Buyout, Seeks Hardware Play On VR/AR
The wild reaction to Pokémon proved well-enough that Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) are a new paradigm shift. Pokémon was an “entertainment” example. The day will come when AR replaces desktops and even the regular hardware seen in nearly every office. Companies will be able to scale productivity with greater ease and manage costs more effectively. INTEL has been known for the processors they create but a near peer, ADVANCED MICRO DEVICES (AMD), is lingering around with a struggling effort to gain market share and $1.3 billion in debt designed to negate any going-concern.

Sources in Silicon Valley say ORACLE's brass has been meeting with AMD’s management, stating ORACLE is seeking a way to diversify offerings. The Redwood, CA software giant’s own hardware revenues and profits have contracted since 2010. To capture future value from VR/AR and to take on INTEL, ORACLE needs a separate brand that already has great products and a dedicated following.

AMD shares are trading at a level last seen in 2012. The company is gaining momentum, has great products, is in a field set to be the foundation for the next leg-up in technology advances, and the management is not exactly Grade-A (per the perceptions of various traders willing to pontificate when asked what AMD’s biggest weakness is).

The hardware game is strong and its future for VR/AR is bright. Analysts are bullish on not only PCs (which may be showing signs of demand from either channel-stuffing or end-users, still hard to tell) but also gaming consoles and potential VR/AR platforms. There is a whole new realm of mass-market potential for new hardware to operate VR/AR and Oracle's "difficult" past with hardware has left the firm seeking a way to position itself for these new opportunities.

    More speculations:

    AMD: A Takeover Scenario
    • AMD is a potential takeover target for many reasons, but especially its x86 instruction set licence.
    • Out of a plethora of possible acquirers, one looms large: Mubadala.
    • Mubadala has the financial might, is committed to semiconductors, has been acquisitive of AMD shares, and is in a long term contractual relationship with the company.
    • Strategically there are many compelling reasons that may trigger a bid by Mubadala for AMD.
    • Mubadala is not effectively constrained by the Wafer Supply Agreement share purchase warrant as to the timing of any bid they may wish to launch.

$500 is still a lot. I expected something twice cheaper from them.

Major Semiconductor Short Interest Continues to Slide

The short interest data have come out for the November 15 settlement date. It is important to note that semiconductor trends are considered to be leading indicators of technology and broader electronics demand. A strong rally in the tech sector largely pushed many of these companies to new highs, as the Dow and S&P have both hit new all-time highs.

The November 15 short interest data have been compared with the previous report. Short interest decreased for the most part in these selected semiconductor stocks.

Intel Corp. (INTC) saw its short interest decrease to 75.56 million shares. The previous level was 80.38 million. Shares closed Friday at $35.44, in a 52-week trading range of $27.68 to $38.36.

Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (AMD) had a short interest increase to 90.83 million shares from the previous level of 89.47 million. Shares closed Friday at $8.77, in a 52-week range of $1.75 to $9.22. Note that like Intel and Micron, AMD is one of the most shorted Nasdaq stocks.

Qualcomm Inc. (QCOM) saw the number of its shares interest drop to 21.82 million, compared to the previous period, in which 24.87 million shares were reported short. Shares closed most recently at $68.29, in a 52-week range of $42.24 to $71.62.

Applied Materials Inc. (AMAT) short interest rose slightly to 15.21 million shares. The previous reading was 15.17 million. Shares closed Friday at $31.88, in a 52-week range of $15.44 to $31.97.

Micron Technology Inc. (MU) saw its short interest drop to 58.37 million shares from the previous reading of 58.63 million. Shares closed Friday at $20.13, in a 52-week range of $9.31 to $20.44.

Broadcom Ltd. (AVGO) short interest fell to 3.97 million shares in the period, from the previous of 4.43 million. Shares closed most recently at $176.75, in a 52-week range of $114.25 to $179.42.

Interesting that its one of the most shorted.

Could it be more of a hedge, lets say long NVDA short AMD?

I like what I see today as AMD is trading ahead of the semi's and the markets. A break above 9 could be off to the races again. I don't expect to see that today but quite possibly in the near term
