Why Is Apple Opening More Retail Stores in Emerging Markets?
Apple focusing on opening more retail stores in China
In the previous part of this series, we discussed how Apple (AAPL) continues to remain optimistic about China despite the country’s economic slowdown. As a result of this optimism, Apple plans to open a number of retail stores in emerging markets (EEM) such as China and India. Apple had 28 stores in China through the end of 2015, but it plans to add 12 more by mid-2016.

Percentage of users buying iPhones from Apple US retail stores declining
India has some positive macroeconomic factors that make it an attractive market. It is one of the fastest-growing economies with a huge young population. According to Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook, “The population of India is incredibly young. The median age there is 27. I think of the China age being young, at 36, 37 and so 27 is unbelievable. Almost half the people in India are below 25. And so I see the demographics there also being incredibly great for a consumer brand and for people that really want the best products.”

The focus on retail in emerging markets is big for Apple, but it’s the opposite in the US. According to a report from the Wall Street Journal, citing research from Consumer Intelligence Research Partners, users are increasingly buying iPhones from telecom providers such as Verizon (VZ), Sprint (S), and AT&T (T) rather than its own stores. The above chart shows this trend. The main reason for this trend is that these providers offer consumers attractive leasing, installment plans, and exchange offers.

    Market saturation already?

Time to create a new OS, force an update which makes all the current models slow and unresponsive, then release the new iphone which is the fastest yet!

    :D

    Who is Bill Campbell?
And why would a memorial delay earnings?
    This sounds suspicious...

Exactly, same is the situation with me i see a lot surging the stock i don't why is these happening??
I had put in a lot efforts to understand these until i came across that apple’s revenue rose to almost $233.7 billion with 28% growth over fiscal year 2014. Apple’s 2015 net income was $53.4 billion, 35% more than its 2014 net income of $39.5 billion. However, AAPL stock fell -2.8% in 2015, failing to outperform in the broader market as investors kept selling their Apple stocks due to decelerating iPhone sales. For 2016, analysts expect revenue to fall to $227.4 billion with a predicted 2.7% revenue decline. So what to expect to from these stats are we heading towards a downfall in AAPL Stock or are these stats substantially true.

We gotta call reddit detectives to investigate this! 'He was VP of Marketing and board director for Apple Inc' according to Wikipedia.

Couldn't they have moved his memorial to accomodate AAPL earnings? His schedule is wide open.
even if it is AAPL ;)

Time passes but nothing really changes for this stock. Mr. Market doesn't believe in AAPL and that's not going to change anytime soon.

Interesting thing is he's using a 50 ema. The 50 sma ~103.85 could still be a support. And at 104.88 is a horizontal support, from the low of 3/29 when the MACD made its last successful bounce off the signal. The week before 3/29 as well, AAPL consolidated and held 104.88.

That's my line in the sand. No moving averages to support below 104, and by then the MACD would be in negative territory.

    Looking at the product summary
    [IMG]
Not just the phone, but the iPad and Mac numbers are down y/y too.

And China down 30% when Cook said they were doing great.

iPad and Mac numbers plummeted so much that "Services" (I'm guessing Apple Pay/Music) is now bigger than them.
"Other Products" (watch) is not even half of the weak iPad. But ooh it's up 30%.
