sold my OCLR here, taking my profits, and going over to AMD, bought half size at the 8 EMA, if it pulls back to the 21 EMA i shall buy the rest.
Looks like we will need a strong start for January or we aren't gonna have Santa Claus rally for second year in a row
Oh wow. That would be a first for me. I don't ever recall seeing 2 straight failed SCR's in back-to-back years like that. In fact, here is a chart courtesy of Stock Trader's Almanac that displays all of the SCR's since 1994. We have not seen back-to-back years with a failed SCR in that time! I'm looking to see if I can find more data on this. I'd be really interested to see when the last time we saw multiple years in a row of no Santa Claus Rally, and what the result was in the following year.
Correction: This chart did not include 2016 for some reason. This would actually be the 3rd year in a row that the SCR would be down! Which might be the first time that has ever happened! (I'll try to check on this to confirm though!) But a big wowzers nevertheless!
Thanks for correcting my mistake Cy, for some reason I couldn't remember that we didn't have a SCR in 2014 too Very interesting indeed, I didn't know that it could be that first time ever that we wouldn't see a SCR for 3 years in a row
I heard somewhere that we have never had 3 failed SCR's in a row. Perhaps it was Fast Money, I can't remember though.
Ding! Ding! Ding! Phew! It has been quite the year! Many thanks go out to all of you who contributed to these threads all year long! You guys rock. Have a Happy New Year fellas! And we'll catch you all in 2017!
Not helping my account. But it's weird. I'd expect with the loan rates going up, supposedly, they'd be going down.
its a battle bulls vs bears, where the spx closed is like literally right on the edge, its slightly below the 21 EMA and right under the 2240-2270 range shadow trader has been talking about for the past few days. where this thing opens up and closes on Tuesday is going to be so huge.
