I agree, the people of this site have funded a lot of their ventures.

So the stock is dropping pretty hard this morning... Selling the news? Or it could be that the processor benchmarks are released and it doesn't perform better than the Intel chips in gaming - Only in CPU benchmarks.

Edit: The good news is that it does kick ace in the multi-threaded CPU benchmarks with it's 8 cores and 16 threads as predicted. Many games still do best on processors with higher performance PER core because they don't really take advantage of multiple cores at once. The Ryzen 7 came out today, but the Ryzen 5 (Q2 2017) may be the better option for gaming and at lower prices. Ryzen 5 1600x will be the highest in the Ryzen 5 line for $259.

Buy the rumor, sell the news event.

Stocks will rally hard ahead of solid news, then profit taking as the facts start coming out.

-5% sell off so far, its sounds bad, but in light of the rally over the past week its not that bad.

The sell off could have been because of bad review on gaming today. But they addressed it in the AMA on reddit. I am buying some calls on the drop.

That has been a good strategy for the last year-ish. Every dip has been short-lived.

Im guessing that the next possible catalyst will be sales numbers in a month or so.

Has Intel announced their deal yet? I believe it ends at the end of March with NVDA. That would certainly be a giant catalyst if they announced a new deal with AMD.

What these people don't know AND I am a Tech... Is that bench marks for gaming is all about (What test you use) there are several of them.
Many of the reviews so far have been done by bias (PAID) Intel fan boys.

Here is quote for a fellow tech that hits it on the head...

"Looks like folks got scared and wallstreet crooks purposely drove down the price. Absolutely nothing wrong with Ryzen. It's going to outsell Intel by a stretch. The gaming benchmark that all the fuss is about is trivial and also only related to oldschool games designed on inferior equipment and unlikely to affect anyone. Vega also is on track to make a big splash in cloud computing... Think ondemand virtual Xbox that can run anything including full VR. But Vega is designed to scale efficiently and make GPU experience available to everyone. Glad AMD didn't try to push a 1080ti equivalent which derails from priority and does not serve the big picture. AMD will bear lots of fruit 2H17 and all the way into 2018"

Sure, most of the big youtubers doing reviews are Intel fans, but its also a case of games mostly using single cores.

Im not sure many games out there take advantage of the multicore architecture, just yet. When that happens, Ryzen will shine more so.

Oh.. And also What game is used to test it some game run better on on Intel some on AMD and it always been that way.... Naturally INTEL fanboys and bias reviews are going to pick the game to test it with that give the INTEL architecture the advantage. So we will see Others testing the Chips with other games and testing tools and it will be on par with or beat Intel in those....

AMD should have know the INTEL was waiting in the wings With Bias review writers just to know them down as soon as they could (Heck they keep them on payroll) (Half these guys sites are financed by Intel), and that it had been planned.. What gets me is AMD should have had there OWN reviewers...

On thing about AMD there PR department sucks... And getting ahead of reviews like Intel does on a product release is not there strong suite and never has been.

Not all that many at the moment.... BUT... Many are being converted to multi core... OR.... new releases are being written for multi core, In fact the last IT convention I attend that was the big talk.... 2017-2018 is going to be that start of new application standards and taking advantage of multi core.

The problem is with most people is they don't understand the tech.... What programs use multi core and what don't,, At least for now...
Once more multi core Games come out you will See Ryzen shine....

Also what little difference in speed there is in single core gaming between Intel and AMD is mute... I mean how fast can you blink? Most people would never know the difference...

What they need to do is a comparison on a game the utilizes multi core.... Then Ryzen will beat it....
Ryzen has been designed for the future programs, games and applications...

Another thing....................... is About the test.... They did it in 1080 resolution..... LOL...... Yes many still game in 1080... But only the poor....
High end gamers game in 3440x1440 or better. And High end gamers enthusiast, builders Don't use the on-board graphics, They buy a High end GPU like Vega.. Again there testing methods are bias.

Im going to disagree with you there.

Guys like Linus who review hardware, I trust will give you an honest opinion because his credibility is riding upon that.

Interesting point, but look at Steam stats and you see that majority of gamers are in 1920x1080, I know I am!

Dont you call me a peasant! ;)

Catering to the high end is niche, AMD wants the meat of the market, people like me!

Hmm... I was so close to selling off when it popped back up to $14.40 yesterday. Now I wish I did.

Dude... you don't know what you're talking about.
The ABSOLUTE majority game on FullHD. That's the standard. That's the resolution the game developers create User Interfaces for, that they optimize the performance for and doing tests for. "Only the poor", my ass.

Anyway, how is Ryzen, guys? I checked some benchmarks and reviews. It looks like a win.

Benchmarks seem to show its good for productivity, less so gaming. Some speculate it could be a driver issue. But even if 80% of i7s, they are half the price so there's that
