The Daily Trading Thread - Daytrades, Swing Trades and Stock Picks

The best stocks to swing trade will have;
Most of their stock owned by institutions.
AND
A degree of uncertainty about the future prospects of the stock
AND
Have a good degree of volatility

I also would prefer an underlying up trend or down trend otherwise if the stock is flat the volatility will tend to dissipate over time without a driving force like commodity price changes.

Example MXL Zoom out to the weekly and you see a blurred uptrend. This blurred uptrend magnifies the potential earning you are able make on the stock.

So it will be that stock that if you go on StockTwits will have some people saying what a piece of garbage and other people saying this stock always did well or is going to change the world.

might wanna keep HMNY on radar - nice little move this morning. OVAS is another one that may be getting ready to move soon.

and have been working on playing both sides and have made a small fortune shorting a couple on paper and think i will be trying for real next week and so hope i get another one like DRYS - has been a great short all the way down from the $7's and it peaked over vwap this morning but no bottom yet lol

good $$ on HMNY and DRYS this morning BUT still a chicken when it comes to actually shorting DRYS BUT made good money shorting it on paper again

Have been watching PULM since last week for short but this thing is just crazy so gave up and played it this morning...in @ $4.60 out @$6.50

VRX up nice. Watching INO - EBIO and still waiting on OVAS.

 

Looking at the 6 month charts $CIE looks like a bargain at current levels. No position but watching.

 

Swing trade possibility in PI setting up. General market pullback is largely expected as well.

 

Is there a website that I can get streaming stock news (small caps, micro caps)? If so, can you let me know what it is. Thanks in advance.

 

I like the mobile apps by Tradewise and Seeking Alpha

Seeking Alpha sends me notifications anytime there's a story or a move from my list.. And Tradewise has a "trending" page showing anything I might want to add to my list

 

might wanna keep JNUG on watch - just made a nice move and might be more coming and/or some more cheap ones for next pop

 

JDST might be the better one to watch. It's fallen 25% today in response to the rate hike which makes it highly undervalued for the time being.

 

agree and that one is on watch and actually just began to scale into JNUG this morning with a few and did not expect it to go but happy that it did!!

 

I can't say I'm too happy, was bought into JDST before this 30% drop :') but glad you made the good buy
