I think I read an article saying that the ATL for VIX is something in the 8s, but I need to double check
Yep you are correct. 8.89 is the AT(intraday)L on December 27th 1993. The AT(closing)L is 9.38 I'm seeing though, so we were just barely flirting with an ATL close earlier this morning.
Oil not up that big but energy names are doing very well, seems like people are selling tech to buy financials and energy today.
wow yeah i haven't seen quite this extreme of divergent type action between the nasdaq 100 and the small caps index in a pretty long time
Yeah seems like what have been underperforming this year are doing well today while the best performer tech is having a really bad day
If some people bought some puts expiring today on some tech names this morning, they are probably laughing all the way to the bank
wow what a sell off on QQQ Big Fives have pretty much go back to the pre-rally level. A couple name got on my attention: MU, Wynn, and MSFT. Target 30, 128, and 68 respectively.
Cool, I bought more MU to average down Still holding LVS (related to WYNN) because I think it's in Stage two Although WYNN has been the strongest casino stock I think. And I will buy a railroad stock (ODFL) because they aren't far-extended from 50-day averages.
It's really rare to see stocks moving down twice as much as their ATR. A steady stock like AAPL, ATR=1.91, today's range 155.19 down to 148.43 is 6.76.
damn that is a pretty ginormous range in the nasdaq 100 ... could this be an outside week potentially? (new weekly high today and a close below last weeks low)
i sold amd before i went to bed, cause of the short citron attacking nvda today, just woke up, what in the world is going on? lol. spx still holding the 21, im still in MU, only question now is if this is the start of something bigger or what?
