Apple, Facebook and other big tech stocks tank as Wall Street debates whether they are in a bubble Facebook, Apple, Amazon.com, Alphabet, Microsoft all fell more than 3 percent Friday as investors rotated out of the stocks. The group has been the market's leaders and is behind about 40 percent of its performance this year. Goldman Sachs analyzed the group and finds it has some advantages and disadvantages when compared to the tech leaders before the tech bubble burst in 2000. Goldman Sachs Friday released a report on the top five outperforming names in tech with some warnings on valuations and concerns that their volatility has become extraordinarily low. In fact, the stocks had become closely correlated to safe haven plays, like bonds and utilities. http://www.cnbc.com/2017/06/09/fang-stocks-slammed-goldman-compares-them-to-tech-bubble.html
Yeah wow feeling it in the NASDAQ today. Yikes. Might be time for me to diversify industries a little bit more. Other than that Goldman Sachs report, is there any indication why this happened? SWIR up 11% yesterday followed by a 8% pullback. Curious why it would pop 11 before the entire tech sector pulls back big time.
well tech has been murdering it all year, at some point it needed to unwind a bit, it was getting well ahead of everything else performance wise.
If I had purchased some amazon 990 Friday put today, I could have take the rest of the year off and enjoy the beach lol
if it wasn't the financials and energy holding up the index today..we would have seen a bloodbath across the board.
It is a fun Friday after a relatively boring week despite some big events such as the U.K. Elections and the Comey testimony, we will see if the FED add some more fireworks to the market next week
I was just bragging on DVN yesterday... but BAS was the biggest winner on my list today... up almost 8%!
Well.. thanks... but i didnt buy it I only got WFM right now.. in all the turmoil today, it only gained 0.82%..... but theres always monday
Oh boy now I'm peeved . They're taking the FANG acronym and turning it into FAAMG (dropping Netflix because its market cap is relatively small, adding Apple and Microsoft) but if they're going to do that to FANG why not just make it FAAMA?
