I play basketball casually with a few friends, so basketball is my favorite sport and I love the NBA. I hope we will get more than 2 title contenders next season though
Cleveland and Golden St. showing that they're the top dogs, flipping the switch in the playoffs. I'll pick Cleveland to win it, fully aware that my brackets suck. Maybe next year the Lakers will have Lonzo Ball and knock off the Warriors
Are you a Lakers fan? Seems like a lot of good talents in the draft leading by Fultz and Ball, but Ball might fall out of the top 3 if some teams don't want to deal with his dad
No way I'm a Lakers fan. But I see a lot of them are excited at the possibility of getting Ball. I would not be surprised to start seeing them thinking they can take down the Warriors if they get Ball. I'm wary of these entitled players that get drafted high, think they can come right into the league without working. They do better when they realize they need to put work in.
Surprise surprise. I'll take LeBron to win it again, although I think the warriors will probably take it.
i did not catch any of game 1 last night ... but will try to tune in for game 2 sun. night ... let's see if the cavs can take one on the warriors court before heading to cleveland ... would be great if this one goes 7 as well
I hope it will be a long series but right now I would say Warriors take this series in 5, they just look so much more talented as a team
gs sets a new nba record with 15 consecutive playoff victories i didn't think a sweep was possible in this series but gs is looking to do just that tomorrow night which would make them the first team to ever go perfect in the nba playoffs
^^ yeah i think so too ... if they do in fact wrap it up tonight i wonder if they will go down as the greatest team (at least in the playoffs) ever? no team has ever gone unbeaten in the nba playoffs.
So is GS gonna clinch this thing tonight or what? Or will Lebron and company put up another record setting performance as they did in Game 4 to at least force another game back on their home court? I believe @stock1234 was thinking this would be wrapped up in 5. I'll be honest I don't really care much for either teams, and especially not Cleveland, but I am kind of rooting for a long series. Not sure if we'll see that. Gonna be tough to come away with another repeat of Game 4 for Cleveland (and I do feel that's what it'll take to beat GS again) especially on the Warriors home court. It'll have to be close to a perfect game imo. We'll see.
Yeah I picked the Warriors to win in 5 and still do I hope we will have see more good basketball teams next year, the Playoffs were boring this year with just a few good teams
Didn't get to watch the last game, but two of my buddies who did said that the refs are who kept the series going in game 4. The NBA couldn't have a sweep of one of their poster boys. Anybody who watched it think there was any truth to that?
good call @stock1234! and yeah i hope so too ... don't know if i have ever seen such a boring nba playoffs as the one that just completed ... wow
I'm a fan of Philadelphia going all-in with their humongous 5 plans. They will draft a 6'5" point guard, and put a 6'10" power forward as their shooting guard, and they have several 7-footers they can rotate around the other three spots. Good trade by Boston too, they will get a top-3 pick and another bunch of draft picks that can turn up good quality.
Whelp, now that the NFL season has concluded time to catch up on some hoops. Admittedly I have not been following the NBA season all that closely. Anything interesting or newsworthy this season?
well, hard to get too excited about a sport when your local team is shitting up the joint. just taking a quick peak at the standings here, seeing the rockets with a 15 gm win streak. not bad. even despite the streak they're barely clinging to 1st in the west. just goes to show how amazing the splash bros. are (as usual). does anyone not see them repeating? barring injuries this is a shoo-in right?
I don't see anyone beating the Warriors in the Playoffs unfortunately I think the Rockets and the Thunder probably have a slight chance against the Warriors but the Warriors obviously will be the heavy favorite again. Anyway I hope we will see some competitive series in the Playoffs this year
Didn't feel like starting up a new thread for the NCAA tourney. But, that starts this Thursday. Brackets are out: Who you all got going to the Final Four and ultimately winning it all?
