With Summer officially set to kick off this week, I thought it would be cool to hear how many of us will be taking off for vacation at some point this season. Always a very popular time of the year for people to take time off from work to relax and enjoy some good 'ole quality time w/ family & friends. I usually like to plan around the 4th of July for about a week or so to visit my uncle and cousin down in Florida...however this year they will be making the trek up north to visit us. That being said I am still contemplating making a trip to visit some old friends and relatives in NJ, perhaps around the last weeks of the summer. I'll also probably be hitting up the beach at least once this year w/ the fam. as well. Only 'bout a 3.5 hour drive east for me. How about the rest of you folks? Y'all got anything special planned this summer? Are there any places you guys would like to visit that you haven't already? I know we've got a couple of people here at Stockaholics already on vacation right now which is cool. I hope everyone has a very safe and enjoyable summer this year!
Bought some land and in the process of building our house, took a one week vacation to do land clearing, install water tap and lines and install the septic system. Taking another one over July 4th to dig footings, install plumbing,drains and pour the concrete slab. That consist of my 2 week vacation for 2017. Work 70-80 hours a week so don't have much time for anything else.
Vacation?... Is that like when you go somewhere besides work?? I did that once, about 4 years ago... Hope i can do it again someday! Last one was great!... Spent a week in Colorado with a buddy... Fished every day and feasted on trout n walleye every night! But since then ive been working just like @Timbo ..... When youre logging 70+ hrs a week, anything longer than a 34 hr reset feels like a vacation!
Just got back from a mini-vacation to NYC myself. I am moving into a new more permanent place in Montreal with my better half so gonna be busy next couple weeks, but I plan on making the most of my summer and getting out into this Canadian Wilderness! Hope you all are able to steal some time for yourself this summer and make the most of it
I will take a really short vacation to Maui in July July 4th is on Tuesday and I will just take Monday off from work
^ nice @stock1234 if there was ever a place i'd love to one day visit it's hawaii ... my folks are thinking of taking a trip there maybe next year ... i may just join them if they do

Envious, really like Canada and Silverton BC is a good place for wilderness - population something like 200 & have to wait for the bears to get out of the street so you can drive!!

Nothing until July/August for me. July 22-27 - Work trip to Black Lake Michigan Aug 3-5 - Vegas for bachelor party Aug 8-15 - Family vacation to Mexico with 2 other couples Aug 24-26 - Annual float trip with a group of guy friends That's all my vacations for the year.

so this is going to sound really weird, but hearing that your journey will be delayed a bit has admittedly got me grinning from ear to ear since that means we will still be seeing you on the forums at least of for now. yes!! honestly the best news i have had in a while haha. will this mean you will still be around for all of april (pretty please say yes! ) going to miss ya bigly around here @Three Eyes once you eventually do head off. hope ya have an amazing trip!!! but in the meantime, i am sooo happy to hear you are still going to be around!
It's nice to have a digital home and peeps genuinely happy to see you around. So THANKS for that @bigbear0083 ! My root canal is tomorrow, and we'll see if my current crown survives the procedure. Endodontist is giving me a 50/50 shot on that one. If not, I'll probably be around another couple weeks until I can be fitted with a new one, try it out for a week, and so on. Airfares to Europe usually start popping in May, so really hoping to get over there in April. But then again, the longer I stay engaged here and in the market the more opportunity I have to earn a bit more. Que será, será!
Anyone here planning any trips for the upcoming 4th of July holiday next week? I might be taking all of next week off to visit my uncle down in Florida. If it happens I'll drive down there. do not wanna just disappear without saying good-bye. Trading is slowing down for me last couple weeks - packing up & will be heading out of the country for a few months beginning 10/31. will off the grid for a few months - no electronics etc where i'm going >> south america jungle lol
