Those of you from South Florida heading north to get out of the way of Irma, if you need a place to go, Fort Gordon in Georgia is prepped to take on evacuees.

    Head up there for assistance!

Shelters filling up quick around here. Lots of mandatory evacuations along the west coast of FL.

One thing we're doing is cooking now, and then freezing what we cooked. That way we only have to thaw and re-heat the food.

Bad thing is ATT won't let you use your phone to make calls over the Internet...

Everyone holding out okay after this weekend?

@OldFart let us know how things are going, etc.

I suspect you guys may have lost power, but hopefully that will be restored for you guys soon!

My uncle vacated Boca and spent the weekend in Orlando. Said it got pretty bad there.

Fortunately for him his home in Boca appears to be okay as one of his neighbors informed him last night which is good to hear. Not sure others were so fortunate though. :(

So my uncle uncle has returned back home from his getaway from Irma in Orlando. Says his house is fine but just a lot of trees down.

Also says he has no power, and thinks it could be another week or so until that is restored. Dang, that's gotta suck. :(

I imagine @OldFart might be in the same boat as well.

Oldie, whenever you can let us know how you're doing down there!

Hopefully you'll have power back soon enough...

My folks said their power is back on in Clearwater, so they are headed back this weekend.

Still many without power, but thank goodness it was only cat 2 , can you imagine if it hit as a 4 or 5? Would have been a disaster!

That's good to hear! Thanks for that update.

I feel really bad for the folks who lived out in those islands like Barbuda ... they got Irma at its worst Cat 5 (185MPH sustained winds!) :(

Upper Keys are okay, some areas worse than others. Lower Keys got hit hard, especially Big Pine.
