I'm going to wait for Wednesday's rate hike first, the first with the new Fed chair right? Overseas, Japan and Germany not so hot but looking for short-term support. Nikkei futures, keep touching the 200 sma. German index, "death cross", right shoulder to form next?
a rate hike should be coming tommorow, i wonder if it will have any effect at all on the markets. and TWTR or FB are starting to look appetizing right here
A rate hike is priced in, the dot plot might have some impact to the market though. If they are more hawkish on the dot plot then we could see a spike in interest rates. Powell will hold a press conference at 2:30 pm too so it will be interesting to see what he will say Soical media stocks really getting hammered today
Good morning! Haven't done one of these in a while. Gonna try to get this going regularly again. Here is Wednesday's pre-market thread- <-- click there to read! Hope everyone has a great trading day ahead today!
stay on your toes....anything can happen The central bank will announce its decision Wednesday at 2 p.m. ET. Wall Street will also zero in on Chair Powell's first news conference in the position at 2:30 p.m. ET.
The SPX is rallying. Yesterday an inside day. Today, just now, at 8:52 a.m.. PST, the price broke above the high of yesterday
Listened to some podcasts on my walk to work. Mad Money (Cramer's show) 1) The Fibonacci queen tried to drum up excitement in biotechs IF they break a certain level. I would agree, but I'm not sure they do break that level. IBB making a lower high...and this could get ugly. Monthly chart: XBI, the good news is they did not make a lower high. The bad news is it double-topped, which would lend creedence to the lower high in IBB: Of course the problem with biotech stocks is they are the target of politicians, see high drug prices. Politicians are happy to use them as a target, but not actually do anything. So this talk can continue for years, even decades. Sure, biotech is a high-growth area. But so is technology, and technology stocks stumbled badly for years at the turn of the century. 2) Said TWTR is a high-quality growth stock.
