well unfortunately i did not get to hike the blue ridge mountains this past weekend due to the weather (rain/snow) ... but still did get a chance to hang w/ the family in asheville for a day which was cool ... nice thing is the mountains are only a few hours drive from me so i'll get another opportunity later in the season. hope you guys both had a good w/e as well!
I did get out this weekend and climbed a mountain in the Ouachitas. It's not that high, and probably not really a mountain. Its peak is at elevation 1013 feet with a base at about 250 feet. So about a 763-foot ascent. No ropes or anything like that, but my calves are still feeling the burn. Bear, I spent a number of years in Greensboro and worked all over NC from the coast to the TN-NC ridge and south into SC and north into VA. It was a great place to live.

Right back at ya! Hope you get out there. I had my weekend yesterday.* I try to stay out of the way of working folk who are attempting to get stuff done on Saturdays and Sundays. (* hiked the Antietam National Battlefield. First time visit there for me...what a GREAT site.)
Will be visiting my sister in Florida this weekend, so it would be the beach for me and Disney for the kids
someone please make it stop raining out already lol was planning to head out on the lake with my nephew but it's looking like those plans might get rained out =/

any of you folks got any exciting plans for the long weekend? i was suppose to be vacationing with the fam. this whole week, but had to call it off due to personal reasons, but am going to try to head out sometime tomorrow morning to join them on the tail end of their trip in asheville for the long weekend. enjoy the day off on monday everyone!
