sell in may and go away was anything but that. june does worry me though. looks like ill finally be losing my LABU, it was fun harvesting it over the past 2 months selling covered calls weekly.
well, barring any crazy eod action today, it looks like this could be the 6th consecutive May that has closed green for the SPX. sell in may and go away? fuhgettaboutit! i agree w/ you on the june worry though @Ken34 since 1950, in midterm years (like this year) june ranks dead last for both the dj30 and spx with an avg. loss of around -2% historically june starts off okay, but then see's some pretty wicked volatility towards the middle and latter part of the month.
Range bound behavior. Better to play it by entering--as had been said multiple times in the past--long pragmatically somewhere between 2600 and 2650 but ideally non above 2600.
Haha yeah we actually had a pretty green May, I guess that was why we haven’t heard much about “sell in May and go away” at all this year
I think he's asking about a stock picking service... unless I read it wrong "hello folks, can anyone recommend a trading website which sends text alerts when to buy and sell?"
yep ... SPX goes out up +2.16% for May not too shabby ... 6th consecutive year that May has ended green. edit: worth noting that the record of consecutive green May's is 13 from 1985 to 1997 ... nowhere near that (yet)
