What a game but its unfortunate to see Colombia resort to dirty playing. Whatever the cause may have been, there is no reason to use elbows, head or foot on the opposing team. Of course, people here in Colombia think the English used foul play. England clearly dominated the first 90 minutes of play, but had Colombia play with the same tenacity as they did in overtime, I think the result would have been different. Now its back to reality for this country. Maybe theyll star to focus on what really matters as a country -- the economic downturn and the ramifications it has on everyone, or perhaps theyll continue to focus on the trivial. On the quarter finals I have: France over Uruguay England over Sweden Brazil over Belgium Croatia over Russia I still have France winning it all. We shall see.
I'm gonna pick some underdogs. Uruguay over France Sweden over England Brazil over Belgium Croatia over Russia Hoping for anyone but France or Brazil to win it all, I'd like to see an underdog take it down.
Imagine if Russia won in Russia. It would polemic to say the least. I can already imagine people calling it a fixed World Cup if it were to happen just because the world cup is in Russia. This World Cup has been all about underdogs. The favorite -- Germany -- was ousted in the group stage. Spain lost to Russia. Argentina nearly got booted in the group stage. If you had bet on some of these results were the odds were 10:1 or 20:1, you've would have made a small fortune. We shall see what happens.
A letdown was expected after a great match from Japan vs Belgium yesterday I guess, not the most exciting matches today My picks are exactly the same as @bigbull for the quarterfinals Now I am picking Brazil to win it all but I wouldn't be surprised if France or Belgium win it all too. I feel like the 4 best teams left in the tournament are all in the upper half of the bracket For the bottom half of the bracket, I like Croatia the most. It is now or never for England though, the path is pretty easy for them to get to the World Cup Finals this time
8 teams left ... all seem good, I like to see the underdogs win. It's good too see success with the teams that don't win all the time or have never won a Cup.
France vs. Uruguay wasn`t the most entertaining game out there but France came up with the win. Mbappe is mirroring the theatrics of Neymar which is unpleasant to see for a player of his calibre, but I think he is well on his way to replacing Ronaldo and Messi once they retire. Still favoring France even if they play Belgium or Brazil.
Slept thru the game since I worked last night, was hoping to wake up to a Uruguay upset, but didn’t expect it with Cavani out.
The Uruguay vs France match started at 4am at where I am, so I missed it too Yeah without Cavani Uruguay didn’t really stand much of a chance against the talented French Meanwhile Belgium is up 2-0 against Brazil Belgium is talented for sure, are they going to win their first ever WC?
Brazil dominated that entire game but couldn't get a 2nd goal to fall. Hoping the right side can win the bracket at this point, don't even care who. I figure every single team on the right side will be an underdog to either of the 2 remaining teams on the left side, and I always like the cinderella stories.
Great chance for England heading to the Finals I think the France vs Belgium match will be the real Finals though
Picking France and England in the Finals. I am rooting Croatia to win it all though or Belgium if not Croatia
Think Croatia has a good team, but I worry that they will be too tired to play at their best after 2 OTs in a row, plus seemed like they got some injuries in the game against Russia
I'm worried about Croatia as well. If they can keep their legs under them, I think they have a much better chance at winning against the 2 favorites than England does.
France in the Finals The prediction by @bigbull is looking better and better Too bad for Belgium, their golden generation is coming up empty again and I am not sure if they will be as good 4 years later. Anyway, rooting for Croatia tomorrow but I guess England will win
