Had a great run in 2016 rising from $45 to $90, but that was fueled by buybacks. Fact is this is a company that is no longer growing revenues, but was able to pull out EPS beats. Today reported EPS in-line, with a guidance cut. Fellow pizza company DPZ didn't fare too well either after their ER 3 weeks ago.

Weekly chart, can see this bounced right off the upward trend line this week, with sizable volume.

I think eventually it will come back down, but for now a reprieve.

So what is he going to blame these new lows on?

    More kneeling during anthems?

They give special discounts for local teams winning or scoring....that might go away if it's eating at profits.
I never took advantage of that, but I do on the free stuff from my points.

I stopped ordering pizza from Papa John's after they tried to politicize their Earnings Report. I think that they definitely didn't do themselves any favors and that this could have long term consequences for the brand.

Short term, their chart looks ripe for a short as well. Watching for a retest leading to further selling pressure.

Pfft, far from fired, he is the chairman, so same thing but less work since he does not have to deal with the day to day nonsense.

The bigger story is that there is a little something about keeping politics out of your business, unless your business is directly working in some political field.

The average person buying a pizza does not give a shit if you are a Republican or Democrat, they just want a pizza.

But if the guy at the top really wants people to know his political feelings, then he needs to make sure that majority of his opinions if broadcasted do not affect sales and the shareholders.

His actions affected sales, shareholders do not like that. His punishment is to work less and make the same money.

Yeah but the truth is: They lost money due to viewership of the NFL at all time lows due to kneeling. That's all he basically said.

You know something, Im suspicious about that.

The people that I know that watch football, never stopped watching football because of kneeling.

I guess the easy way to confirm this is if kneeling stops and sales of pizza go up.

Most of the people I know quit watching the actual games. They watch highlights and scores. That's about it.

Interesting, that is the opposite from what I saw, but its inline with the reports of declining viewership.

yours truly will be in attendance for the panthers/bucs game this sunday! :D

still watching the games and ordering pizza here at least :p

the kneeling drama was stupid but not a reason to stop watching the games (at least for me).

it also helps that my team is doing good this year. go panthers!!!
