That's a good question, and I don't know anything definitive. But it seems to me that Wednesday is a normal business day for businesses? I don't think I'm getting that day off... In which case it's possible that companies will go right ahead with their earnings reports on Wednesday.
Yeah my guess is we won’t get any economic data on Wednesday but will still get the earnings on the morning and right after 4 PM eastern like we normally do. Not 100% sure though
Looks like the gains overnight faded a little bit I guess the gains now are more reasonable, they just delayed the new tariffs for 3 months and there is no deal yet
Think the Fed doesn't know what to say now, the trade war rollback has got to make production forecasts difficult.
I wonder if the FED will begin to sound more hawkish again since yields are really flattening and we have our first inversion for Treasuries in a very long time
seeing SPY 12/28 283 Sweepers into the close looks to be in total about 2,154 contracts from 1.94 to 1.95
Truckers with solid red candles today, PTSI down -6%, JBHT only down -1% and ODFL a little less, but all have traded poorly since the open.
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/trea...erted-sounding-alarm-recession-194921816.html It’s not the major curve inversion that investors watch for — the 2-year note holding a higher yield than the 10-year note, which has preceded every U.S. recession since World War II 2 year at 2.823% and 10 year at 2.973% right now
RIP “Poppy” Bush The nation will mourn the recent passing of our 41st President George H. W. Bush on Wednesday. And in his honor federal offices as well as the New York Stock Exchange and NASDAQ Stock Market will be closed on December 5th on this National Day of Mourning. Poppy Bush was a rare breed, a true American. He served his country honorable for over 50 years from his 18th birthday in 1942 until after he left the office of the Presidency in 1993. He was the youngest naval aviator at the time of his commission in 1943. He served our nation many capacities, lastly as the 41st President, though he remained active in politics, diplomacy and philanthropy for many years after. The tradition of closing the stock market during the National Day of Mourning to honor a late President started in 1963 with the passing of our 35th President John F Kennedy in 1963. Here is the history of the performance of the S&P 500 on the days before and after these special market closings. It is a small sampling without much of a pattern as the market moved more in line the current trend.
Good Tuesday morning to all. Here is the pre-market thread for those of you wanting to get a quick read before today's open- <-- click there to read!
US futures held up very well, compared to Japan which was down -2.5% at one point last night I saw. The Japanese market ended down -2.2%, taking back more than it gained yesterday.
