Anybody have any experience with indoor wifi cameras for monitoring baby, nanny, or elder parent? Any makes/models to recommend? Me and my siblings would like to be able to check in on a family member's in-home medical care on our android and apple phones. (••‿•)
Damn, I just happened to stumble on your thread now @Three Eyes! So, unfortunately I won't be much help here to you in mentioning any good indoor wifi surveillance cams but I too would be very interested to hear if anyone on stockaholics has any experience with any surveillance cameras via wifi, and would be so kind as to sharing them to this thread. And yes, mobile apps a must too! Would even say that it's required. I used to use something called AtHome some years ago that worked okay. But, that was discontinued recently from what I see. Now looking for a new app.
The only one I'm familiar with is my ADT home security system has a camera and we can check it from an app, but I'm sure you're looking for something that doesn't entail a full security system being installed.
That's right @T0rm3nted . Something like a standalone unit that can use my parents wifi network that me and my sibs can view live or stored video from our phones. There's a lot of these things out there, and I have no problem finding one. But the reviews on virtually all of them are mixed, and I guess I was wondering if someone here actually has one and can tell me about ease of use (particularly rebooting) since it will be my mom who will have to reboot it when I'm not around. Thanks for chiming in!
You can find a lot of cheap CCTV cameras on eBay or any other retailer. I would recommend purchasing a 1080p camera for decent resolution. Our company uses these types of cameras with recfaces biometric identification software. I don't think you need biometric identification for monitoring baby, nanny, or elder parent but it could be useful for outside surveillance.
