Baby's first marketing budget. I associate Fiverr with amateur solo companies paying amateur YouTubers to read advertising script.
It's a certain kind of comedy, the characters they come up with.

Guess they couldn't find a guy willing to update the data for $5.

Sure, he "drinks" and "smokes" on the job. But did you also spy that crumpled up Halloween fun-sized bag of Cheetos on his muddy riverside power line concrete pylon? Dude is livin' the dream, I tell ya.

    Hi All,

Sharing my views on Fiverr ($FVRR)

While the stock has already run up a lot in 2020 (up +663% YTD as of ), I think it is a very strong business that still provides a good opportunity for long term returns.Would love to know what you all think.

    What does Fiverr do?

Simply put, Fiverr is an online marketplace that helps buyers and freelancers transact, solving many painful problems that buyers and freelancers used to experience in the traditional way.

Key stats, worth paying attention to:

    • TTM (trailing 12 months) Revenue: $139M

    • TTM Gross Margin: 80.7%

    • Revenue Growth (3 Yr CAGR, ending Q2’20): 58% / 82% growth in the last quarter reported

    • No. of customers (ending Q2’20): 2.8M

    • Avg. yearly spend per customer (ending Q2’20): $184
Things I like about Fiverr's business:

    • Large, global TAM - many stats show that freelancing is growing globally

    • High gross margins, which is increasing

    • Both buyers and sellers have high NPS of 66 and 73 respectively [for reference, Amazon has an NPS of 62]

    • # Buyers and ARPU are growing simultaneously at a large rate. High repeat buying

    • COVID is a positive tailwind - structural changes to the market can last for a long time

    • Founder led business, who owns 12% of the company

    • Showed profitability in the last quarter and is projecting profitability in upcoming quarters
    Things to think about:

    • Regulatory changes in different geographic markets that can upset Fiverr's business models [e.g. if freelancers are not treated as gig workers but employees]

    • High valuation at the moment and upside remaining
An often-heard criticism of Fiverr is the low quality of service provided at times. Between Fiverr and Upwork, Upwork is more stringent with freelancers and also tends to focus on larger projects. At Fiverr, cheap services can sometimes mean poor quality. However, this doesn't seem to be reflecting in the high NPS and growing ARPU of buyers. The repeat buying from customers also reveals that at a platform level, customers are satisfied with Fiverr.

    Valuation

Fiverr's current valuation is quite high (TTM EV/Sales of 43, which puts it in the same bracket as SaaS high flyers like Cloudflare). However, quality companies aren't cheap.

I like the fact that the company is young, is still relatively small (market cap $6.2B), and has many areas to expand revenue and market cap (e.g. its recent initiatives like Fiverr Business helping it go upmarket, promoted gigs). Further, Fiverr's global nature provides it an opportunity to scale new initiatives to many different markets rapidly.

The upcoming earnings report on 28th Oct will tell us if Fiverr is continuing its growth trajectory. Any slight bump in growth can result in a big drop in the share price. Depending on how you view the company long term, there could be opportunities in the future to open new positions.

Disclaimer: I have an active position at Fiverr (entered at $152.7). I will be adding more at dips.
