I bought a stock back in 1999 - NTN - 1000 sh at $1/sh. It never did well and I just stopped following it.
On the very bottom of my Etrade Feb 29, 2012 statement it showed on date 2/08/2012 a "Pending EXP" with a transaction type "Distribution" and another line on 2/28/2012 with "RIGHTS EXP". NTN never appeared on any more of my statements. The stock was valued at the time at around $0.25 but the company hung on and I see the stock shares are worth a few bucks /share now. I never received any mailing from Etrade warning about this EXP and it happened in between monthly statements. Is there some way I can force Etrade to give me back the stock? What happened to the old days where there was an actual stock certificate issued. Yes, I am old and stupid but is there any hope??

Seems like if they did not go bankrupt and you did not have a forced sale resulting from a margin call, you should still own it. Sounds like you need to give Etrade a call and find out what happened.
