This is my first reply so I'm sorry if I do it incorrectly.
    1) Im located in South Dakota in the largest medical facility in the midwest.
    2) a very low percentage of COVID patients are admitted to the ICU, and those that I have taken care of are less sick than I was expecting. I would consider them an "easy" patient if it weren't for all of the isolation precautions.
    3) We have only had one death due to cardiac arrest. The patient had a long health history and COVID exacerbated the heart issues.
    4) We were at capacity when the testing took 2-3 days to get back. We now have 90 minute testing so we can ship out the negative patients much more quickly. This went from having 24 patients in our ICU to having only 3 today.
    5) We do not have all the protective gear we need. I was forced to use one surgical mask for the entire day while in the hallways of the COVID floor.
    6) You asked great questions. To me the biggest issue that may lead to deaths is lack of protective gear. three of our intensivists have tested positive and many nurses. If we run out healthcare workers, particularly those who are ICU trained we will see MUCH worse outcomes and higher death rates.

Of the incoming positive tests, what percentage is getting tested because they have symptoms, vs being tested random or because having had close contact with a person that tested positive?

Haven’t read the article because I’m in on an online training while dealing with a screaming kid. I read at one point that they stopped doing trials on hydroxy in Europe because they were seeing seizures.

Not sure if that’s what the article talks about or not.

I do agree that there is a possibility of drug reactions, like any drug.

    Seems to have helped her:

My wife and I have been wiping everything down with Lysol wipes before bringing it into our house and this is exactly why. Groceries, packages, mail etc

If you develop a fever, cough, and have difficulty breathing, promptly seek medical care. Call in advance and tell your health provider of any recent travel or recent contact with travelers.

I hope everyone is safe and well.

the numbers are crazy for this pandemic in the USA. 4.4% (1 in 50) death rate for those testing positive compared to seasonal flu of .06% death rate (6 in 10000)!

So many people saying this "isn't a big deal" obviously do not read the facts

    Please stay safe
