I'd like to see a run into 3080 ish, I'll get short there probably. RAD squeeze working very well today.
sorry, super late to get to this! nope, no early closing on thursday as far as i can see. looks like it's a full trading day. friday the cash markets are closed, and the futures markets having an abbreviated trading session closing at 1pm eastern on friday. btw, fwiw i am going to be away all this week starting from tomorrow. i probably should make some kind of an announcement about this over on the competitions section as well. i hope you all have a great week ahead, and a wonderful 4th to all of you and your families! this year, 4th of july will be a bit subdued thanks to the pandemic.
I wrote the following on Friday: "Ok. I entered long position #1 at SPX 3008 today. I don't care if it goes up or not. But, if it collapses more, I shall enter lot #2. I expect the SPX to minimally go up to 3050 at some point. I mentioned I had exited totally at SPX 3050 a while back because I expected this retrace. So, stay in the game--but wisely!!!" I exited at SPX 3047 this morning. Close enough. Profit taking. Hoping it collapses for another long entry. Just play the game, I guess
Thank you Cy. I guess it is good that we will get a full trading day on Thursday. Enjoy your time with your family and you deserve a break from running the contests This July 4th will be strange for sure, usually I have a BBQ party for July 4th with friends and family members, but this year we won’t do it
Oh nice https://www.cnbc.com/2020/06/30/new-strain-of-flu-in-china-has-pandemic-potential-scientists-warns.html
Where’s the money printer gif, things hot today!! also looks like India going back to 30 day national lockdown starting tomorrow.
Entertainment is taking a big hit. It's gotten to the point that virtual films are on the rise, i.e., you get on Zoom and talk to me on Zoom and we record that and call it a film production. Who on God's green earth wants to watch that?
All these companies pulling advertising from social media -- anyone think this will lower their (Unilever, Coca Cola) earnings?
Maybe but probably not significant, pretty much everyone knows those well known brands already, probably would hurt those not so well known brands more if they pull advertising. At least for myself, when I click ad at all on Instagram, I click the ads of the company that I know nothing about only
Gold touching 1800s today Hard to see it is not going higher with the pandemic and money printing going on
I doubt if Coca Cola sales will drop because they stopped advertising on Facebook. I don't think any of the large companies depended on Facebook for their market share. Coke is it.
I think earnings would increase from it. Less spending = more profits. besides the point, all these companies pulling advertising already have brand reputation. It’s not like people don’t know what Coke is or are just going to stop buying it because they don’t see constant ads all day long.
There's only 1 reason to buy the ads. So that somebody else can't. Every as takes 1 competitor as out. As space, even in Facebook, is finite. If you don't take that as space, RC Cola will take it. Cut all advertising. Then suddenly, everyone sees Royal Crown and Tab.
